Dear fellow citizens,

This article is intended to deliver the latest breaking news about geopolitics and keep you informed of the recent developments on the European chessboard.

WHEN EUROPEAN MIDDLE POWERS BANDWAGON

The last few days have seen a slight sliding of the European center of gravity towards the already dominant European alliance, ONE.

The somewhat unsurprising official entry of Sweden into ONE confirmed a long observed trend in Swedish foreign policy. The already exhaustive list of Sweden’s MPPs (Spain, Poland, Macedonia, Hungary and Serbia) dispelled doubts as to country’s new foreign policy line.

More puzzling is the United Kingdom’s dramatic exit from Terra. The UK recently signed MPPs with Serbia, Macedonia and – to a lesser extent – Slovenia and Turkey contrast with the preexisting alliances binding the country to Terra core Members, among which France, Germany, Brazil or the United States. The UK hesitant entry into Terra did not suffice to conceal the lack of alchemy between London and its former North American colonies. The British foreign policy reaches unprecedented levels of inconsistence, and God knows how experienced Switzerland is on that matter. By virtue of the Friend of a Friend Cancellation rule, the French-UK MPP would be automatically canceled should France attack Macedonia. Since France has just proposed Macedonia as Natural Enemy, the UK will technically oppose their eLife-long friends on the battlefield. I am with the British diplomats in spirit😁.

Northwards, the Alliance of Baltic Countries (ABC) seems to have chosen sides by launching an attack on Russia. Although officially nonaligned, the Alliance is obviously scoring points with ONE.

EDEN’s RESURGENCE

The wind is turning in the Balkans. After having experienced the bitter taste of defeat and occupation, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are raising their head again. The Brotherhood seems more determined than ever to get its revenge. Border battles are raging on 3 fronts:

- Hungary-Romania: Romania recovered most of its territories occupied by Hungary without any difficulty but is currently butting against Hungarian defensive forces in Crisana.

- Serbia- Bosnia and Herzegovina: following its successful reconquista, Bosnia and Herzegovina went on the offensive. The country is about to conquer Western Serbia.

- Macedonia-Bulgaria: this confrontation looks more and more like a ping-pong game. However, Bulgaria might well keep its lead and put Macedonia in trouble in the next few days, thanks to the Franco-Italian campaign.

Croatia remains the major source of uncertainty. Croatia and Slovenia seem to look daggers at each other; however, the country might take a great weight off its Bosnian or Romanian allies’ shoulders by giving priority to coordinated campaigns against Serbia or Hungary (respectively).

WESTERN EUROPE

Yesterday, Italy set Macedonia as Natural Enemy. Macedonia immediately reciprocated, in spite of the threat Bulgaria poses to its homeland. Later, France fell in behind Italy and proposed Macedonia as NE. The two Western European countries are currently signing a MPP to complete what looks more and more like a France-EDEN coordinated action.

However, Poland’s campaign against Germany is coming to an end. It’s no secret that Poland has France in its line of fire. A Polish NE proposal against France might cut this operation short.

Time will tell whether ONE can really be put in trouble when playing a home game. Poland can probably tip the scales all by itself. But countries seem to coalesce to put up resistance to ONE supremacy… and this is of particular interest.

Sincerely Yours,
