A Timely Bitch

Greetings My Fellow eRepublikans!

I have been a very busy girl lately, so busy that I haven’t had time to fill you in on what’s going on in the life of Mellie.

Congress

I finally reclaimed my congressional seat in Alaska. I haven’t been in it since February 2009, and the seat is markedly less sticky. I’m glad someone decided to wash it off.



So I heard congress is kind of a snooze fest and that people tend to bawwwwww over nothing. It’s my goal this term to increase fun, increase productivity, and do away with useless bureaucracy that makes little sense. I’m not sure how many people remember my congressional terms, but I’m kind of a progressive person who believe in efficiency and reminding people that this is a game and we are here to have fun. We can do that while using game mechanics and research to design good policies and proposals.

Propaganda Now! and Retox Monday

I’ve been a busy girl putting together an application for Propaganda Now!, and I finally released it today. We are starting up the newspaper again and are looking to expand our podcast team. If you are interested I encourage you to read the article above and apply!



I’ve also been working on my new project, Retox Monday! Retox Monday is a blogtalk radio show that I do every Monday night with Inwegen. It’s a time where we get to have a tasty beverage together and BS about the happenings of the eWorld around us, but mostly, we just like to have fun and have a bit of a social hour. Our next episode is 20:00 server time on 7/26. We’ll have on special guest Claire Littleton and will undoubtedly talk about women and congressional elections.

Having Fun

As this game has become simultaneously more boring and more frustrating at the same time, I have decided that it is time to inject more fun into this eLife.



Nightly, we have been doing Skype calls. We use this time to mock the latest bugs in eRepublik as well as to get to know one another better. Believe it or not, this game is heightened to a whole new level when you actually experience the social side of it all. Soon, I hope to reintroduce RISK nights and a whole onslaught of other lulzy activities. If you want to add me on Skype and join the fun, my nick is princessmedypi. (I know, original, right?) Lately, Bradley Reala has been slammed for pretty much everything under the sun. Sure, there have been some major failures in his cabinet thus far, and he has been almost silent to his constituency. However, the things he does right rarely go noticed because everyone is so focused on slamming him incessantly.



Today, he saved my state of Alaska. Idk how many of you people remember the running joke, but I’ve always been the princess of Alaska (or as I was called during WWIII, PrincessMedyPi of Troylaska). Well, today, I guess you could say that Brad saved the princess. So, kudos to you, Bradley Reala. Kudos, indeed.
