FORWARD
When a door closes, a window opens.
On why the Brolliance failed..
Trust.
The Brolliance was predicated on trust between two nations. Trust that they had each other's back and trust that they would stand up for each other to the end.
Let's face it, eCan was the the little brother in this deal at only 1/10th the size. They weren't bringing might or resources to the table.
What they brought was trust.
eUS could trust eCan to be there and to stand by its side.
Likewise, eUS was there for eCan, to stick up for its little brother, even when game logic or international pressure dictated otherwise.
Along the way, the trust was broken.
When I was CP, eAmericans started RW in the regions that were to be rented by eCan. Michigan and Pennsylvania. IMO, this was a breach of trust.
eCan has launched lulzy NE's of eUS on several occasions, these were breaches of trust.
Little cut, by little cut, trust was destroyed, to the point where not enough was left in the kitty when it counted.
And then, when it was needed most, the CP of eCan and the CP of eUS were not sources of trust building, and time ran out on Bromance.
It couldn't last forever, it was doomed from the start.
Enjoy the memories, because it's gone, and there isn't enough diplomacy in what's left of eCan to establish that level of trust again.
On why SuperNation makes sense in dealing with eCan...
You can't trust eCan.
Too many ethieves.
Too many maverick politicians.
Too much role play in their government that is not relevant to game play.
Absorb them into the eUS SuperNation and take away the loose cannon that is eCan.
Besides, they have attractive economic bonuses.
Denouement and Shameless Plugs...
Manifest Destiny is the active pursuit of absorbing other nations into eUS for the purposes of building a SuperNation. It is the ultimate alliance whereby the nations unite under one flag, enjoying 100/100 and the pursuit of state capitalism while fighting for game-play integrity everywhere. For the people who use RL money in this game, this party is going to fight for optimizing your interests. Plenty of patriot war, abundant production for your clicks, and no tolerance for Richards.
If you support this vision, I encourage you join Manifest Destiny and continue to build momentum toward realizing this vision.
Who's your daddy?
Addy's your daddy!!!

Trust can be rebuilt. All it needs is a spark and new leadership...
Never work if you try to accomplish this with tanks. Diplomacy and agreement is the only way to achieve a lasting super nation.
I feel inspired to move to the eUS...who do I contact to move?
It's going to take more trust/work getting eCanadians to give up their eCan CS and move to the eUSA than it will take for eCanada to convince our sympathizers that eUSA shouldn't hold onto our regions
eUSA is seeming rather dysfunctional as of late. Not of the same kind or on the same level that eCanada deals with regularly. I'd rather be among those who acknowledge and work with our failings than buy into the superiority complex that comes with 100/100
Now if we could move whole MUs...
eCanada is it's own worst enemy. A supernation would help every citizen there. The best thing is it would get rid of the influence that some really shitty players have over the people, most who don't even remember what a great place it used to be.
But eCanada was never great, although a lot of great people left it ;_;
Trust is boring
Strategy games are way more fun when you're kept on your toes by paranoia and limited information
mmmm....bonuses
And whole new low Addy.
It's pretty sad to see a former eCanadian planning on wiping his former nation.
A supernatural will only create enemies.
And ultimately your gateway into ONE like you proposed in Closed Door Congress during your reign as CP back in eCanada.
You used to be cool bro...
Ralph Kline, "...most who don't even remember what a great place it used to be."
anotherlamedrunk, "But eCanada was never great, although a lot of great people left it ;_;"
I think it was both a great place & some great people left it. TFD's rl death was a blow still felt by the community. Add to that 1ronman's fall, JB's Mayhem collusion with Acacia, Rolo, et al., Rolo's thefts & multiple pto's, the high level of multis, the yellow journalism... The list seems endless because it is.
I can't fault those who have withdrawn. I really admire the guys who have stuck it out, even the 2 clickers, the zombies but honestly, I see no easy way out of the strangle hold. eCanada maybe just a shell now, but no matter what anyone says, it used to be a great place.
saltydog has the right idea except, it doesn't fly when only a few are having fun reaping the benefits, especially when the game is played at the expense of others. If it's done right, then ok. Is Addy's plan doing it right?
"A supernatural will only create enemies."
Seriously? eCan finds ways to create enemies all the time.
True dat
"eCanada is it's own worst enemy. A supernation would help every citizen there. The best thing is it would get rid of the influence that some really shitty players have over the people, most who don't even remember what a great place it used to be. "
This is true. I remember the time I became an eCanadian. Unfortunatelly, eCanada somehow became a property of one person. The true is that today's eCanada is own by one or a very few persons. They should be stopped.
Things are bad in both sides!
Maybe more on eCanadian side (where a thief have a lot of power) but maybe I say that because I haven't got involved in eUsa's politics yet.Congressional elections are almost here and it's the perfect time to vote for someone who is committed to stop the circus. To read the open section in parliament is the best way to know you candidates.
Canada failed most of it's loyal & honest citizens & is paying for it............bitter truth
A supernation holds no benefits to any average Canadian hoping to have an impact on the national dialogue. Swallowed up by a nation 10 times its size, Canadians would be a small minority of people bereft of familiar institutions -- strangers in a strange land.
Few would thrive.
and you think Rolo and his cronies wouldn't be able to bribe their in into this "supernation" as you call it.
Code-Y, Rolo, Wally and all their friends probably could get their way in and get themselves into congress with perhaps more supporters than before.
Sounds good to me, Addy. Challenge accepted.
