Hello eWorld!

Today I have the pleasure of writing to you to tell you that I will be running for UKRP party president for a third time this month as the official candidate for the party. It has been three months since I was last at the helm and we have seen a lot of positive changes happen in that time, but I believe that we can do much better.

I have realised from reading this article back that I am not suggesting we do anything radically different this month, just that we do more of what we are doing/have done in the past. This will of course require more work than in previous months so I am hoping that party members step up to the plate.



I will start by saying that I am fully intending to see the current schemes within the UKRP (such as the UKRP defence scheme) continue in the coming weeks. I will also be following a similar congressional elections scheme to the one we have had in previous months (sign up sheet herehere) and so won’t be going into detail in this article. What I hopefully will do in this article is outline what I intend to do differently/more this month

Messaging

I feel that as a party we have let messaging slide somewhat and I would love to see us returning to daily messaging over the next month. There are a number of messages I would love to send out including welcome messages for new players and information on any community support project we are running.



Of course this will take a lot of effort and in order to work successfully we will require a good number of people to help out. Like a lot of my plans for the coming month it will require active party members to help out wherever possible in order to be a success.

Media

Over the last month or so there has been a very noticeable change in the media in the form of political articles rather dying from the scene. I believe this is in part down to the new media module being less party-friendly in the way it splits up articles and so less people read articles. However, I don’t want us to write articles purely to “raise our profile”, instead I want articles to be a communication about party projects/schemes to those who are interested in what is going on.



We don’t want to be a party who is merely looking for new players and if the media doesn’t help with that, then we will look elsewhere. We want to be a party for the community. We want to gauge public opinion and represent their views in congress as well as we can, and we want to keep well informed.

Community support projects(please someone come up with a better name 😛)

It was great to see the UKRP defence scheme set up last month, but I would love to see us doing more than that this month. I don’t want the UKRP defence scheme to be seen as us “doing our bit” and so we are happy just to settle on that. I would love to see us doing more to help out new and existing members of the community.



There are several ways we can do this and it doesn’t necessarily have to be overcomplicated. We could simply run a giveaway and pass out free stuff to all who are looking for it or we could send some support to our army and militias in the form of food/weapons/cash (just as some examples). I have started up discussion on the forum to get the ball rolling and I will also be looking for someone to oversee community support over the next month. This leads me neatly onto the practical side of the next month.

Jobs

Congress whip

We all know that once someone is elected to congress they have a responsibility to vote on proposals both in game and on the forums. The congress whip will ensure that all congressmen are aware of any votes taking place.



Congress director

I am intending to be around throughout the day, but it would be great to have a congress director who will be responsible for candidate placement, any necessary pre-election messaging and directing on the day alongside myself. Newer players please don’t think you can’t take on this role, as it is actually fairly intuitive and we can work on it together if needs be, oldfags also welcome 😛.

Community support co-ordinator

Exactly what it says on the tin. The CSC (it already has initials and so must be cool) will be in charge of managing the UKRP defence scheme and any other schemes which we decide we would like to run.

Media co-ordinator



Again very simple, the media co-ordinator will be responsible for ensuring that we are in communication with the public and that people are presented of our policies, up to date with our gifting offers etc.

Messaging co-ordinator

Shockingly enough, this guy will make sure messages are flowing smoothly and that we are communicating with everyone we need to be communicating with

There will be an application sheet on the forums and I would love to see people getting really stuck in.
