[Lockean Philosophy]

Day 502, 10:38 Published in USA USA by Ian John Locke IV

There have been many people in this game who have invented religions or brought old world ones into "the New World". Likewise there have been new religions invented, Adminism, the Church of Dio, etc.

Again, there have been old world philosophies of everything from politics to economics brought over from the old world, or as some like to call it, the Real world. Few, however, have developed their own ways of thinking. Their own philosophies if you will.

Many see me as a thorn in their side, others as a friend, others as someone to bounce ideas off of, and even others who view me as a semi-comedian. I have never had a problem in opposing those who I disagree with, or supporting endlessly those who I agree with. I have more often than not been a confidant who people have come to for advice and review of their own ideas. And some find some of my "lulz-articles" to be quite hilarious.

I am currently a mentor to three young players and have come to realize how much information and wisdom I can pass down.

In mentoring them I have realized that I am only imparting a small part of my knowledge down to them, instead if I can spread my philosophy across the New World, not only will new players benefit, but those with previous experience might see objects in a new light.

[Questions and Answers]
This is really just me asking questions for you

Some may ask, "Is this a pretext for a run for Country President?"

I answer you, "I have said for months now, since Benn Dover's presidency that I should never want that title for all the gold in the New World. I envy no man or woman who takes it upon themselves to be in that position."

Then you may wonder, "But where does he find the gall to assume that we want to know and accept his philosophy?"

I am a successful three time Party President of the America's Advancement Party. Under my leadership the party grew in membership by 150+ members. Twice we elected a presidential candidate, Uncle Sam. (Although his second term was cut quite short.) In my first term as PP, I got 9 new members, including myself, elected to Congress. This was under my severe micromanagement. In my later two terms, I relinquished those responsibilities to a party member, and sadly we've dropped to 4 congressmen. Also, the AAP has reached foreign nations with brother and sister parties across the New World.

I strengthened inter-party relations with a majority of other national parties.

I have just been, over all, quite successful. In short, that is why you should listen to me.

[The Bare... Bones]

What is the bare idea of this new "philosophy"?

Let me read to you, or let you read yourself, a quote from J.R.R. Tolkien a man of letters and arts:

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

What impact does this have upon my philosophy? It affects everything and nothing.

So many people in this game feel that collection and/or manipulation of gold is the ultimate means of success.

There are two who can be named at this exact moment in time as prime examples:
Alby
Equality 7-2521

They both see gold as a means to an end, and neither are wholly wrong. For each of their purposes, it may work out for them, but this game is not all about gold.

There are a lot of expatriates in the New World. They may have been eUS citizens, but are no longer. They are not lost. In fact they sometimes have some of the best foresight of all of our players. One such player is Leo Ruby.

He saw a future in Ireland and took a chance in moving there and furthering their great nation. He has done similarly in the UK. Give you one way he has done so? He has been the key player in the creation of the British Advancement Party, one of the AAP's relatives.

There are, as Ananias coined the term, Beta giants in this game. Many of us are getting tired. We have seen so much in this game that we feel it well nigh near retirement for us. So many of them are strong men and women and I doubt that they will actually end up leaving. The community in this game is just too strong.

There are so many close ties and friendships in this game, even if someone does leave, but comes back later, those friendships will not have faded.

The new players may feel that they are in the shadow of the beta giants, but there are plenty of new players just waiting to shine. I say to them, create your own light "a light from the shadows shall spring."

Right now in the eUSA, I witness the most dissension and animosity towards each other, we are just waiting for the leader to unite us. This leader shall be recognized by the world and then the eUSA shall again be the King of the New World.

[You just pulled all of that out of your ass didn't you?]

Well isn't that all philosophy?

[What about the specifics?]

Those will have to be released in future articles.

[Mr. Locke, why do you play this game?]

For fun.

[Where do I come into this?]

You can vote, subscribe and even discuss with me my future articles that will, possibly, form my philosophy into something more accessible for the every day player.
