[LN] Countries with respect to Malaysia

Day 733, 03:26 Published in Malaysia Malaysia by cerasus

If there are citizens among you who are as ignorant about the outside world as I am right now, then it might be an interesting excercise to make an overview of some countries' economic powers. Erepublik's GDP metric might be bugged, but I'll treat it as an indicator of economic strength. It also losely relates to military potential as there's no big damage without big money.

1 Malaysia = 450 gold

This is gonna be our counter word in this comparison. Values are subject to rounding error. These guys are fairly bigger than us:

1 Spain = 11½ Malaysia
1 USA = 11 Malaysia
1 Hungary = 8 Malaysia
1 Russia = 7⅞ Malaysia
1 Serbia = 6¾ Malaysia
1 Poland = 5⅞ Malaysia
1 Romania = 4⅓ Malaysia
1 Croatia = 4⅛ Malaysia

They are still bigger, but we already see the top of their head at least:

1 Canada = 2⅞ Malaysia
1 Brazil = 2¾ Malaysia
1 Iran = 2¾ Malaysia
1 France = 2⅔ Malaysia
1 Argentina = 2½ Malaysia
1 Peru = 2¼ Malaysia
1 Indonesia = 2 Malaysia
1 China = 1⅞ Malaysia

And these fellows are about our size:

1 United Kingdom = 1⅓ Malaysia
1 Lithuania = 1¼ Malaysia
1 Australia = 1 Malaysia
1 Japan = 1 Malaysia
1 Chile = 1 Malaysia
1 South Africa = ⅞ Malaysia
1 South Korea = ⅞ Malaysia
1 Austria = ¾ Malaysia
1 Thailand = ⅔ Malaysia
1 North Korea = ⅔ Malaysia
1 Philippines = ½ Malaysia
1 Italy = ½ Malaysia
1 Sweden = ⅜ Malaysia
1 Singapore = ⅓ Malaysia

Gotta repeat that these numbers do not represent military strength faithfully, as some countries might have a more muscular population while others are weaker. It might be useful, though, to see how their general economic stance compares to ours.

Blessings! (Oh, and don't forget to vote for official candidates of the Djozikeist Church of Malaysia on November 25th.)
