[Legion] How to Fight Like A Smart Cookie.

Day 1,499, 15:08 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by ApronChef

All Legion Members are reminde😛

- To claim rewards please post in the Legion feed with the reward you think you have earned. A Legion commander will then assess this, and have any weapons deserved to you as soon as possible!

- Admins have ensured fights are counted wherever you fight from, but note that the "fight" button at the top of your home page now shows Legion orders in an easily accessible place. The feeds have also been merged, to ensure we can supply any rewards with much greater efficiency!

Legion currently supplies 10 Q5 weapons per day to all members who work in ESO approved companies for minimum wage. For job links please PM either jamesw or Justice Boomticket who will point you in the right direction.

If you are not interested in working for an ESO company, or have other commitments, just by joining the Legion Military Unit you will receive 1000 wellness of food every week.

There are also various other benefits, ranging from free guns to economic support to help buy, and plan, your own empire of companies. Further information on this is available here.

Today chums, we will be learning about how to fight effectively. Of course, as this is a Legion article, this will not involve irksome requirements. You won't need to check IRC (although this is one of the most effective ways), you won't need to speak Serbian, send messages to anyone, or do much other than check a few simple facts.

In all, its possible that to fight effectively 99% of the time, you need only spend two to three minutes before you fight. However, fighting effectively is not just about channeling your damage into the most important battle. Its also about ensuring you regain as much health per day as possible. For instance, let us compare the town centres of a relatively new player and someone who is very old. The former can regain upto 300 health at any one time. The latter can have upto 650.

However, the amount of health you can use is also dependant on you being active. The more times you can heal each day, the more total health you will recover. The more health you can recover, the more times you can fight. The more times you fight... The more damage you do. 🙂

First of all, its important to maximise the amount of wellness you can recover. This is done in two ways. Firstly, the most important goal is that you upgrade your town centre. As you note at the top of this article, (for those who missed it, you can click here) it is possible for you get the money to upgrade your town centre free from the UK government.

An exhaustive list of the requirements to upgrade can be found here. Whilst the costs may seem expensive at first, its important to note that this building is permanent - it is a one off expense which benefits you hugely.

It goes without saying that the higher your wellness limit, the more you can "bank" in terms of wellness. This will mean you can login less frequently, and still do a huge amount during the day. For instance, I login 3-4 times per day, and thanks to the timing, manage to use about 1800 wellness each day. This enables me to work in a ton of companies, and on the odd occasion, do a bit of fighting too. The same applies to all.

The next important part of fighting, is to also regenerate health as often as possible. The goal here is to time it so that for as long as possible, you are always regenerating health. It seems clear, and it is: the minute you are at your full allowance of wellness stored, you begin to waste time. As such, you should time (where possible) your logins to eRepublik so that you can ensure that you are regenerating a "bank" of wellness as often as possible.

This will not only increase your damage, but also enable you to hit in multiple rounds of the same battle. The goal in eRepublik, in the current version, is not solely to be strong. It is also to be active. This will also allow you plenty of time to practice the below method of how to identify the most important battles.

The simplest way for me to show how to identify the important battles, is to demonstrate my thought process when I am fighting. As fighting for your Military Unit orders is paramount, (1 candy bar and 1 bazooka reward which can be turned into Battle Hero medals), it is important that you complete this eveyday. As such, its important that you follow these orders until you have achieved your reward. Once you have done so, you have more freedom in terms of fighting.

Thus, once you have completed your 25 kills, and come to another point of the day where you need to fight, you can be more selective with your orders. Let us pretend the orders proposed in your Military Unit point to a battle where the battle is not:

- Active
- Close (a gap of 9-10% between the sides)
- Not a whitewash (ie it is not 6-0 or 7-0 to the "other side")
- Not nearly over (ie a difference of 1000 points between the sides)

If so, you would then ignore these orders, and search for an alternative.

I would then follow the other link on the homepage: the battle that the President has specified needs your damage in. At the time of writing, this is out of date, so I will move on to my next thought process. However, if this points to a battle which is not:

- Still active
- Close (a gap of 9-10% between the sides)
- Not a whitewash (ie it is not 6-0 or 7-0 to the "other side")
- Not nearly over (ie a difference of 1000 points between the sides)

Then again, you must go to the next "phase".

Finally, its possible to pick your own orders. Essentially this involves a simple process: find that button on your homepage. It'll take you to a page where you can see all of the open wars at present, however we're only focused on ones which won't require you to move. Thus, only focus on "allies campaigns" - the simplest way to fight where you're needed, is as follows:

- Open all the "fight" pages in new tabs.
- Close each tab which has an inactive battle - "x has won this campaign"
- Close each tab where one "side" is winning 6-0, or 7-0
- Close each tab where there is a difference in points of 1000 or more
- Close each tab where one side has an advantage in influence of over 20% (ie, has 60% or more) - this is only for battles past the first 30 minutes

If by doing this, you are left with more than one battle, then look at which is closest. For instance, if one battle is 6-2, and the other is 4-4, then go for the 4-4 battle.

If you are in the very rare situation where you have two or more battles at a similar amount of rounds, then go for the one with the highest total number of rounds done: ie, if its a 4-4 battle vs a 2-2 battle, go for the 4-4 one.

If you are still left with more than one battle, then go for the battle with the biggest Battle Hero on the enemy side.

Thank you to all members and volunteers for their help with todays edition. If you are interested in adding some helpful hints, tips, or have an interesting interview/thing to say, then please feel free to send them to me. An ongoing thanks to the hard work of ESO, without your support I would be destitute, alone, and probably French.
