Laying in bed sick the last couple days (allergies caught my sinuses good with the temp. from ~90°->~60°F I guess), I found myself wondering what was going on with eThailand, and whether or not we re-signed the MPPs with Colombia and Brazil on time (I wanted to check while typing this :3). I was worried about all the things I could be doing (fine-tuning different functions for the MU roster, a bit of party work, and not to mention all the things you should be on top of in the State Department, etc.~~). I'm in the middle of working toward a fairly tough degree alongside work and the normal hussle and bussle that comes with life. When I found myself planning portions of my day around eRepublik rather than inserting eRepublik where I could fit it, I realized...there's a lot more to life.

I wouldn't be able to make this decision (to quit, if you haven't caught the tone) if Derphoof weren't here as the primary SecState. I couldn't have left the job half done, so I would've waited ~20 more days. As I know he can handle the job as an experienced veteran, I can step out with confidence in the direction of our foreign affairs (it's probable that in some people's opinion, leaving it is the best thing I've done for eUS FA...lel).

My Black Sheep friends: Forgetting you would be impossible even if I tried. Thanks for sticking by me for so long and being the source of a lot of laughter and just all-around helpfulness (thanks HWF, my laptop is so much better) all hours, night and day. There's too many of you to name, but I'll always remember the good times, folks. ★★★★ Baaaa ★★★★

Keep on trucking, playaz. I've had a lot of fun in eRepublik, and I learned things I'll have with me for a long time, if not forever. I appreciate the support, encouragement, and opportunities I've had in eUSA.

I really think it's rare that people manage to truly quit this game. I once quit (and completely vanished) for nearly two years, but lo and behold, here I am still.

With that said, it seems like you had a realization similar to the one I had recently, and I'm seriously happy for you.

Playing eRep should be something we do for fun and for ourselves. Pouring so much of yourself and your life into it is simply not the way to play anymore. Truthfully, I figured you'd eventually do great things here if you kept at it, so my first inclination is to be sad, but honestly, when I think about it, I just figure that you not doing great things here just means you're doing more great things elsewhere.

It's always sad when people write right before they leave. It's even more sad when you knew that player your whole elife and had him as a good friend. It will feel lonely around here but I hope you come back sometime. eShades you have done many great things in this game!
