[Karrde] I'm Running for President (Again)

Day 1,775, 10:34 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Talon Karrde

Erepublik seems more interesting with every month that I play. The twists, the turns, the politics and the battles; they’re a welcome change from the challenges of life at times, and at others compliment it perfectly. If there’s one thing I can say about life in the e- United Kingdom, it would be that things are never boring. Each day I log on to new challenges, new tasks to perform; be these improvements to the game by the admins or player created content. We have a vibrant and varied community here that makes this game well worth playing. Not all of you are my friends, not all my political allies; but your presence and my interaction with you is what makes my time in eRepublik so enjoyable.

When I was President in March and April, I had two goals to achieve; first to regain regions for congress, and then to win back our freedom. Thankfully, although I wasn’t quite able to achieve the latter during my term, the plans I set in motion did allow my successor, Appleby, to do so, and I’ll be eternally grateful to him for that.

Now, as I run once again for the position, we are in a much better position.

We’re free, we have a healthy relationship with our allies, and we have good prospects for the future. On the other hand, our society is far from perfect, and is shrinking in size. I see the biggest challenges of the next months not on the battlefield, but rather in creating a fun and fair environment that our citizens enjoy being a part of.

My vision for the country will be paramount in my manifestos. In short it’s to reinvigorate a stale community, ensure a bright future diplomatically, and to try and unite people for a common good once again.
I’ll be dealing with a variety of subjects in those manifestos and anyone with my GDoc of ideas knows the direction my thinking is taking so far. If you want to hear from me on a particular issue, please PM me and tell me what and why; I’ll make sure I address this in my manifesto.

My government will run in a similar way to my March / April governments, with me doing mostly foreign affairs work and my ministers handling everything else, while me and the VP manage and keep on top of them, to ensure they’re doing the best work they can for the country and our citizenry.

I’ll head up the government as a strong central figure, and will seek to lead on all events and occurrences in the country; to shape events as opposed to be shaped by them. I’ll give daily announcements on the forum as I did (mostly) last time.

My VP will have their fingers in all the pies really, getting foreign contacts while keeping on top of the domestics ministers, making sure they’re doing their jobs and writing reports. They’ll do a weekly report on the government and how they’re doing, compared to manifesto promises (in a different way to and with a different perspective to my own announcements.)

To show you what my policies will look like, I’ll describe each within the context of the ministry they’ll be the responsibility of, in my manifestos over the course of the next week until the election, so stay tuned for those.

For now, though, please vote this article, tell me what you want to hear about in my manifestos, and consider where in my government you could slot in! My government will be big, and to succeed it needs talented and able volunteers.

I’ll be releasing the following manifestos as part of my campaign:

Domestics / Finance
FA / Military
Roles / final thoughts

Thanks for reading, and vote for me on the 5th,
