[Kaiser] A new order

Day 838, 04:26 Published in Austria Montenegro by Kaiser Alex

eAustria is under siege. A siege not in the literal sense, but a siege in an internal sense. Political dissent is strife, everyone is eager to have their opinions heard, even at the expense of their political rivals. It is not a situation I enjoy, nor one I intend to contribute to, I believe in the unity of all eAustrians, not at the expense of each other. After all, this government is the first ever to include such a variety of peoples and parties, who would of thought a coalition of the NFA and the SP (SPA) would of ever existed? It is NOT all doom and gloom for eAustria's political scene.

My plans as Prime Minister

Many of our so called "opposition" (Not the party in name) have claimed this government is a sham, with Hedera as a puppet of myself. I actually laugh at the prospect, Hedera is extremely strong willed, and the very notion of me controlling him is ludicrous. Hedera is my governmental colleague, and a good one at that too. I am no "puppetmaster" and I never intend to be one, Hedera is a democratically elected president, and he deserves to be just that, I am appointed, nothing more.

Now that is out of the way, I wish to unveil my new plans for eAustria. If i aquire the president's approval I will be putting into action the "Imperial Council" to select the new Kaiser of eAustria. This role as previously mentioned would be a "failsafe" incase something went wrong with the president and if his services were no-longer required. Just to reitirate how this is not centred around me, I will not be eligible for the place of Kaiser.

The Imperial Council will be structured like so:

Three members of Imperial Royalty; These people would have a veto on who the Kaiser would be and hold huge sway in the council. Without their unanimous approval a Kaiser can not be elected. This position is Permanent unless a "removal" vote is initated and won.

Seven members of Minor Gentry: These would be the core of the council that would nominate who the Kaiser would be. These members could provoke a "removal" vote if they feel that a member of the Imperial Royalty is not worthy of their position. A total of 5 votes would be required to eject Imperial Royalty. These positions get refreshed every month if required.

That is the basics of the Council, that, along with the new consitution that will be introduced it should really bring some uniqueness to eAustria.

On another important issue, I wish to make my feelings heard on a particular subject. Joining an alliance. I believe that Austria has proved itself in the world time and time again by showing foreign agression that it is not welcome. We have fought against Hungary for Burgenland around 4 months ago, and we have only just beaten back the Croatian hordes that terrorized our land. So, after doing all this, do we give up our independence and submit to domination? Do we fall down under the "velvet" shackles of Phoenix? Do we say that Burgenland is un-important and claim our previous defense of it was wrong?

I say NO. We retain our independence and we fight on for ourselves, not for a super-alliance that personally couldnt care for us at all. Do not take this the wrong way Phoenix, the help you gave us against EDEN was absolutely amazing, I salute every single soldier that helped in defending neutrality, however, why can you not continue to do that, and give us back our land that is rightfully ours? Hungary, dont start all that Burgenland was hungarian for 1000 years rubbish. Firstly, this is eRep, nothing IRL matters as much as it does in RL. Secondly, Hungary was Austrian for 400 years, so if you want Burgenland, can we have all of eHungary? No, didnt think so,

On a final note, I just wish to say I am having some computer problems, and that is the reason why I did not turn up to the meeting on IRC the previous night. This shouldnt affect me too badly, but IRC is off limits for me for around a week and ingame my activity will be slightly less than normal. I will still reply to all PM's, please just be patient.

Long Live Austria, may it prosper in the time to come.
