[J2M] It's Been a While

It’s Been a While

Oh yes it has.

For anyone who doesn’t know me, which is probably a lot of people nowadays, I’m Medrolke. I’ve done some stuff previously in eBelgium. Some things I’m proud of (I think I was actually a pretty good politician back in the old Free Belgium days), and some things I’m really not (the BFB PTO, Supreme Court and the [purple][/purple] incident spring to mind). Regardless, I would like to think that I contributed to this place at some point.

Anyways, it’s been over a year since my last article and almost a year since I last logged on to my old forum account and it’s given me a good opportunity to step back and watch eRep from afar.

It’s been interesting to say the least.

I’ve watched as the people I once knew have left or changed. Some have gone on to bigger and better things, some have fallen from grace. I’ve watched as people have tried to adapt to the admin’s poorly thought out changes. I’ve watched as people moved from argument to argument, crisis to crisis and never really bothered to contribute anything.

I have had thoughts. I have had opinions. I just haven’t voiced them.

This is largely due to the fact that I’m no longer the political and military advisor I once was. The reason I don’t use my old forum account is because I genuinely don’t feel like I am the same player. Yes I bear the same name in-game and have roughly the same opinions, but I’m just not him anymore.

The last time I tried to return, I became the head of the old BAF almost instantly, based solely on my history with the position, and burnt out pretty quickly. When I returned this time, I got a message from Olv on like my second day back informing me about the vacant position that was open at the time; needless to say I didn’t put my name down.

And that’s why I’m writing an article.

The media module is the one place that I never really impacted at all. Yes my articles were well received when I posted them, but I was hardly famous for them, and now that the top articles thingy is back, I have the opportunity to voice my thoughts in a relatively non-serious and independent way, without worrying that they will affect too much.

So that’s what I’m going to do. Write articles. I mean why the f**k not?

My first subject will probably me the CP elections, or the BNA situation. Both are quite fun. But we’ll wait and see.

Comment Question (yeah, I'm gonna do these)
On the subject of the CP elections, a long time ago, I tried a feature called The Review, where I basically reviewed the performances of the cabinet over their term and it was kinda fun (links to read it below). What would you guys think about trying to do that again at some point? Post in the comments.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for today. I’ll see you later. Ciao 🙂

The Review: [Part 1] [Part 2] [Post-Article Review]

Also, side-note: As I read though the review I noticed that I called Mittekemuis “the new kid on the block”. How time flies huh?

Also, another side-note: I realize that there is a severe lack of a layout in this article. That’s mainly because I feel like I need a new one (hence the re-brand). I’ll try to sort it out for the next article, but for now, I apologize if it was difficult to read.
