[iSD] Enough is enough!

Day 1,043, 05:35 Published in Czech Republic Czech Republic by Leo Ruby

Friends,

This is a sad day for me, and for the Czech Republic.

When I came here, the CSP and the Czech Young Liberals were allies, and while the members had different ideologies, we were still good friends with each other. I chose to join the CSP, because they seemed to better represent my ideology, and they all seemed like rather nice fellows.

A lot has changed since that time. Lacking a common opponent (Vit Ruzicka mainly, and the constant threat of Poland and Slovakia) the Liberals and the Socialists split apart, with an increasingly radical (in a bad way) section of the party taking increased control of the party. And while the CSR started out well, it has grown increasingly paranoid and totalitarian to the extent that it has started to resemble less a Socialist democracy than a Socialist dictatorship. I do not blame this on Socialism (there are still many good Socialists in the Czech Republic), but rather on those who have used it to create a situation of divisiveness.

That is not to say the Liberals have been a barrel full of cooperation and help either...this whole thing started when they refused to give us the bank, and we had to start from scratch, which certainly did not help bring about a feeling of goodwill and kindness among the socialists.

This is evident in the recent CP article declaring a state of emergency, and firing all CRU members and non-citizens from their jobs; clearly we must remember that many of us are foreigners, but were openly accepted in Czech society; apparently we have forgotten. The article ends with an enormous portrait of Joseph Stalin.

Following this article is an article delcaring the "Independent Pirate State of Bohemia."
This one features a pirate flag, and was followed up by a MoD article declaring how "Czech Armed Forces gives 5 days to the pirates to stop rebelling and start working with the government towards a better future" and "If the pirates wishes to rebel, military action will be taken against them."
I am actually rather interested in seeing how they plan to do this since, last I checked, the army cannot attack a nation that does not actually exist, though it is good roleplaying (+25xp).

So, all CRU members non-citizens will be fired from their jobs and traitors will be ratted out...a new (non-existent) nation has been formed, with a new (non-existent) government, and new (non-existent) citizenship applications...followed up by a declaration of war on the non-existent country, a country run by people who think they're pirates.

The current government calls itself "Democratic Socialist" and claims to represent the wills of the people, but which people? The people who directly follow their ideology? The iSD were good allies with the CSP, and yet there is a proposal for a resolution against Social Democracy and Revisionism...any party opposing them has been PTOed, and no doubt a PTO threat will be directed against the iSD, but we will fight it.

And so I am calling on all of you, social democrats and centrists, social liberals and socialists, to speak out against the actions of the government; if you wish, join the iSD, or you may stay in your current party, but I plead to you, do not remain quiet when you see wrong!

Freedom for Socialists! Freedom for Liberals! Freedom for the Czech Republic!

Sincerely,

Leo Ruby,
President, the independent Social Democrats
