[Interview with German President] "On the Anglo-German Friendship"

Day 513, 09:23 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Christophia

A few months have passed since I left my homeland of eUK, headed for the newly independent Federal Republic of Germany. Now a member of the German Congress, I have just been re-confirmed as Germany's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and I am writing today to hopefully begin a "national conversation" between our two great nations, and ultimately improve relations.

Though historically turbulent, relations between eGermany and eUK are now beginning to look up - we are now allies, and joint members of the ATLANTIS alliance.

A Brief Update

But first, a brief update on events in eGermany. In the recent Presidential elections, Starkad Rorlikson of the Bürgerliche Union Party won with 54% of the vote, replacing previous President Isy. If you want to contact Starkad, you should do so via the Bundeskanzeramt (Federal Chancellory). The German-Austrian Union also came under attack from PEACE forces, resulting in an split between the two partners, with Austria now independent and under PEACE control. You can read more about this, here.

Today...

On coming to power, President Starkad declared that "April will be awesome, and described his victory as a "revolution".

I asked him what he meant by this. "I am aiming to change the general approach to politics in eGermany" he said. "I want to introduce a certain level of much needed professionalism into the whole decision making process, and create a clear approach to make us a more reliable partner, especially to our good friends in eUK", he went on.

On his reforms, he mentioned respect for the British system, saying he "studied it (among others), and found great inspiration in implementing bits and pieces of similar nature". He came to power on a promise of "Transparent Government", and a "Freedom of Information Act" based on the British legislation is currently being debated in the German Congress.

The German-Austro Union is a contentious issue for many in Austria and Germany. When asked if he hoped to recreate the Union, he replie😛 "Well, the union was never dissolved. Austria decided (democratically) that they want to merge with us to create a stronger, better protected german speaking nation, and we agreed.

"Unfortunately we were not able to defend their territory against imperialistic Italy, Slovenia and other PEACE forced....ending with the very result that we wanted to prevent in the first place (a desintegrated Austria with Austrians scattered among several nations)."

With eGermany and eUK now allies and ATLANTIS members, this is a great time for bilateral relations. I am here, and I will be on the eUK forums to represent eGermany, and answer any questions or queries you may have about us - please do not hesitate to ask!

Many thanks to President Starkad of the Federal Republic of Germany

Yours,
Christophia
German Ambassador to the eUnited Kingdom
