[IA] General Orders on the Election: UPDATED
Sean MacDiarmata
By authority of the Provisional Government, the Minister for Defence and the Committee For State Security, the Irish Army has been issued the following general orders for the coming election.
1. All Irish Army troops are ordered to hold their vote for as long as possible.
2. Votes are to be given to candidates that are best placed to knock out PTOers. Votes must be given to the nearest person to beat a PTOer, or the person immediately above an enemy candidate if they are below the election line.
3. Under no circumstances are Irish Army soldiers to vote for enemy agents or collaborators.
4. The list of active enemy agents and collaborators is as follows:
- Maddog Jones
- Joachim von Bremen
- Tomazim
- Gav Miller
- haughenator
- gonzo914
This list is subject to change at any time, additions or removals from this list will be announced by article.
EDITE😨
In response to more than a little moaning from certain quarters, I have issued the following addition to the standing orders.
5. No soldier shall be required to vote for the following outside of their good conscience. These players are not active enemy agents, nor members of the PTO group, but due to past actions, have concerned members of the military to such an extent that the High Command cannot issue orders to vote for them in good faith:
- orangejuicemmm
- Irish_Rebel_Reborn (AKA Padraig Pearse)
These measures are being taken in defence of the Republic, and as such, full compliance is not only expected, but absolutely necessary to maintain control of our own country.
Signed,
Ariovistus,
Acting President of the Republic.
Reactionist (rxn),
Minister for Defence.
Brian Boru,
Chairperson of the Committee for State Security.

I think this is too bad, but necessary. I applaud our government for responding to public outcry on the matter.
Haha
Enjoy your autocracy, Ireland. We have delivered you.
I think autocracy works best for me. 😛
I tend to be more productive and less likely to procrastinate.
Don't be too impressed, I changed the order so that we can concentrate on kicking the Brits in rather than each other.
Sorta important at this time, don't you think 😛
Who is the "the High Command". I am not tring to be funny, I never heard of that group before, is this something new?
Yes.
Its the command of the IA Moo, from the MoD, CoS to suppliers. All senior command officials in the IA.
"I think this is too bad, but necessary. I applaud our government for responding to public outcry on the matter. "
I agree also.
GOVERNMENT CENSORSHIP AT ITS BEST
Ordering people how to vote. Surely, that's worse than what the British are doing? Or at least as bad?
Gormley, are you saying you would prefer British PTOers?
The ATO votes are being distributed late and according to effectiveness to give a maximum amount of democratic representation to the country while defending it.
Besides, we don't even field enough candidates to have a real Dáil election anymore anyway...
"Gormley, are you saying you would prefer British PTOers?"
No way. And I am insulted you would suggest that.
No, my objection is to the format that the ATO efforts are taking.
The title says "[IA]General Orders on the Election..." Like, that definitely sets alarm bells ringing for me straightaway. Why are the army ordering people what to do in the election? Aren't we supposed to be living in a democracy? The reason for the ATO is partly to protect our democracy.
It just seems a little unsatisfactory to me. I would prefer if there was strong persuasion rather than specifying that they are army "orders".
But besides this I do applaud your efforts in trying to keep PTOers out. I'm just a bit annoyed by the phrasing of the title really and being a bit fussy.
I would normally agree with Gormley, but I'm willing to overlook semantics in this case.
Long time voter for Irish rebel and would encourage others to consider him.
"No way. And I am insulted you would suggest that."
Rhetorical question Gormley, of course you're not in favour of the PTO.
"Why are the army ordering people what to do in the election?"
The army are being used as an ATO force because they're readily available, well motivated, active, and most of all, loyal.
By holding the votes back as long as possible, we'll let the less active population have their say beforehand, meaning that we'll get a reasonably representative Dáil anyway, regardless of ATO efforts. Combined with the non-partisan method of choosing who we vote for, I think it's the best system we could come up with on short notice.
Concerns brought up in a logical way are always welcome Gormley. Snide remarks about my loyalties on the other hand, as some had taken to, are most certainly not. 😛
last time I checked I was MoD, whats up with that ?
Kind of a half-hearted attempt, and you left out MikeBane, but I'll give you credit for trying.
After all, when a donkey finally flies, you don't hold it against him because he didn't go very high or stay up very long.
"I would normally agree with Gormley, but I'm willing to overlook semantics in this case."
x2
@Gonshite
Mike Bane didn't let a PTOer into the country. You have no evidence that he done anything wrong. stfu ya weasel.
😁 what this man said. The snizzeling rat is trying to say others are lying
