I'M ADDICTIVE TO EREPUBLIK.

I'M TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

Most people get addicted to something. Take SOME1 I KNOW FOR EXAMPLE for example; he have been smoking for 17 years. Yes, he tried to quit a couple of times, but it’s hard, especially when things in real life get tough, it helps smooth things over.

Now take ERIPUBLIK. I’ve been playing since October of 2009. Usually, I play a video game until I “break” it. That means beat it on every difficulty, then try to find and do the things that the creators didn’t mean for us to do. This game however, never really ends, unless you die which can make things hard for some....

Time eventually becomes a factor as you can easily spend a few hours doing stuff and sending messages, although there are times you can come on for ten minutes, train level up a stats and log off. The problem then becomes that you're not satisfied, you want more.

Well, two accounts are not allowed, so you go to another server and sign up. Now you have your second account and all is going well. You start leveling and checking in on your two accounts, but again, something is missing, you seem to be getting into a rut. So you go and start another account on the next server. Before you know it, you have an account on every server, and .org is looking very inviting. Now things get a little crazy, messages, attacks, wars. Time is against you, and did I mention a wife, kids and work?

So now you're spending time trying to do everything you can to keep those in the real world happy, plus sending that plus looking for ways to join the gang. Meanwhile, your wife is telling you that you spend too much time playing and need to do other things. How about you guys and girls at school? Psych test tomorrow and you forgot to study because you were launching and messaging on your neighbor.

This game's biggest enemy is time; you need it, always more of it. Some of you are thinking, “Well, I can spend few hours a day and everything is fine.” But for most of you, this game just became you.

Now you’re thinking about it all the time. At work, you’re thinking about what you’re going to post on that DOW, or how you’re going to go home and attack somebody of that guy that attacked you last week.

Yes, the addiction sets in and you don’t even know it. So you rush home, maybe you eat dinner, but chances are, the first thing you do after work or school, is cuddle up to the computer. You click the internet and go to ERIPUBLIK, if it’s not your home page already. You feel a sense of relief as you find that you're not lit up red, you still save in your towns and you just got enough work to do and upgrade yourstats. Next thing you know it’s eleven pm, you need to get to bed, but you still have two accounts to check. You quickly run in and out of each account to make sure you're good until tomorrow, and yet you start waking up early to check before leaving for your commute.

So you’re ready to admit you’re addicted. You know you spend way too much time on this game, yet you can’t stop. Maybe you start telling yourself, I need to do my thing, and this is it. Maybe you’re ready to quit altogether, but suddenly you’re under attack and your adrenaline goes sky high as you prepare yourself. You’re locked in. Every time you think "this is it", something happens to drag you back in.

My excuse? It’s my hobby. But I know I’m addicted. I have thought about walking away, but I have made friends. There are gangs and people that need me. Well, maybe that’s because I need them.

It’s fun to meet all these people. Some hate you, some can’t stop messaging you. Others come and go. Others stay forever. They are there for you. You get to know them. You look at them as your in-game family. Leaving would be like turning your back on a friend or family member. Sure, they would understand, but could you do that? Could you just walk away?

Besides, this is the best game ever, right? I mean, it has to be. I have never played a game for this long; as I said earlier, I usually play until I get everything done, then it’s off to the next one. Since I started playing, I have played a couple games on my Wii, and Xbox 360. Once it’s finished, good-bye. Oh, and I always check this game everyday even when playing a video game. The problem again becomes time. My wife wants me to stop altogether and the kids have to go to soccer, so I do what I need to do. We may even give our full attention to everything we do, with our families, at work, but as soon as our minds can wander, we start thinking about it. I know I’m not alone. Neither are you
