Yesterday I received an interesting comment to my article. Somebody said it is a bad sign that if I start writing articles about Hungary and what should it do. In any case I would like to start a debate to see in which direction should the country go from this point on.
eRepublik is a game with no final goal, which could declare a country a winner. But still we have countries which can be declared winners. Romania was the first real winner in this game. They built a great empire, the first really big empire. But they were too focused on conquest and oppression, so they have fallen. The second winner and big empire that appeared in the game was and still is Indonesia. They have succeeded in keeping a good relation with population of the occupied regions, they have freed regions which did not provide any resources nor had no strategic importance, and they have focused on economy.
Hungary can be considered the third big empire and winner of eRepublik. Currently Hungary has 34 regions spanning across 3 continents and 11 countries – it has regions from Canada, USA, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Russia, China and North Korea. The only question is if Hungary will learn from Romania or Indonesia. Hungary is going forward, but none of us know if it still goes up-hill or if it is on a downward slope.
We will decide our fate. We can follow the example of Romania or the example of Indonesia. In my humble opinion world PEACE is not peace. We can take out all ex-Atlantis countries and rule over 50 regions, it is feasible, but what then? In need for new wars will we turn against our own allies? I believe that in order to be able to grow, Hungary needs to maintain a certain balance of power in the word, but keep the edge for PEACE.
We need a direction, we need to know what are we fighting for; we need to know the direction the country is going. Internal bickering has reached unseen heights ; many times the shit hit the fan. This happened because people do not have a goal, the try to find something to do that is fun. This is why people are PTO-ing opponent parties; this is why so many attacks appeared in the press. Without a goal the daily fighting has become such a routine like working and training. Fighting in battles across the sea is not that fun anymore. We need to put more weight on the social and economic side of this game.
I will draw up a few measures that I believe Hungary would need to take in order to maintain and increase its super power status.
Relation with opponents and conquered regions
Great power comes with great responsibility. We must keep the key regions, but we need to respect our enemies and give back them the regions that belonged to them and that strategically have no importance to us. We must remember that all the conquered countries have left is their pride and we can never take that away. If we do not act now our incapability to take the best decision will come back to haunt us and bite as in the ass in the future.
USA – we need to keep Alaska and give back North Dakota, Montana and Washington
I believe we must end this war as long as we have the upper hand. The USA is in the same position as Hungary was in the war with Romania. Remember that they had a humiliating peace offer that we have rejected. We should not make the same mistake. We need to close the war and close all active MPPs from this war. We will get 4 months to build a fortress in Alaska and after that we will fight if needed one on one for that region.
Canada – we need to keep Nunavut and Manitoba for their resources and must give back Saskatchewan.

North Korea – we should liberate Hamgyong

Switzerland – this is tricky, but I would liberate the entire country (Graubunden, Romandie, Svizzera italiana, Deutschsweiz) or give all regions to Italy

Relations with neutral countries and land taken from them
We must try to focus and attract neutral countries to join PEACE. We must do it through diplomacy and not through force.
Denmark – we need to keep Nordjylland and Syddanmark

China – we need to keep Heilongjiang

Relations with friendly and PEACE countries and territorial claims
We need to keep these ties really close. We must work on making PEACE and PEACE countries stronger. We must work on getting as many high resource regions for our allies as we can.
Russia – we must give back North Caucasus
We must give this region back to Russia. There are 41 oil companies here, but only 11 seem to be active (5 employees or more). It would be a difficult operation but I am for challenges. In any case I would give back Dnipro only after the 25th of September after there is certainty that Romania did not PTO Ukraine.
Germany – we need to give back Baden-Wurttemberg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia and keep Hesse.
As history has proved us, in the last 3 months Hungary saved Germany twice. After they take back control of Congress these regions will go back to them. We need to keep Hesse as it was the only way to help in case of further attacks.
Austria – Hungary will keep Burgenland
Economy
Due to the economic module we will face over production. The skill of players rises faster then the population so this leads to over production. Usually during wars demand rises, but right now when we are in the middle of the greatest world war even some weapon producers struggle to sell what thy produce. After this war ends the world economy will come crashing down.
In order to stop this over production we must focus on quality rather then quantity. This means that people with higher skill will need to work in companies which produce higher quality products.
Skill 0 – 2 -> Q1 Company
Skill 2 – 4 -> Q2 Company
Skill 4 – 6 -> Q3 Company
Skill 6 or above -> Q4 or Q5 company
In the mean time the state should give grants that would cover 50% of the upgrade cost of land companies from Q1 to Q2 and from Q2 to Q3.
In order to decrease the pressure on the local market the state should give grants for land companies to cover 50% of export license to ally countries that lack those resources.
The state would need to create GOLD reserves, which should amount to at least 10.000 GOLD.
Army and wars
Because most players are interested in the war module and because the economy depends on the war module we still need wars and to fight.
For around 15 days we could solve this by starting RWs in regions that should be given back to their original owners. During that we need to stock weapons and gold, so we can start new wars.
I would say that in the next 30 to 60 days our target should be Croatia. This war would be about LULZ and payback for what they did. By this move we could help out ally Serbia in reaching one of their goals (I will not be more specific here as most of you know what they want and where they need to get).
I would not attack Romania as it would generate too much RL hatred. Croatia through its MPPs is as strong as Romania so it will be fight to remember.
Political life
I have not seen real platforms for quite a while. We need to get back to our roots, to the days of political debates based on political values not on mud throwing.
Yesterday somebody made a good point. We should give power in the hands of people who not desire power! This way we can have people who would work in the interest of the country and not in the interest of keeping power.
Social life
I do not have many ideas about what to do, but we need to spice it up!
Public Private Partnerships
There are 2 great private initiatives:
The Ludovika Program – wealthier players receive a padawan and they must give them 2 weapons each day. This is great and should be extended
The Last Line of Defense (Utolso Vedelmi Vonal) – it is a private fundraiser and they will use the funds only if the country is under attack in an original region and if the President asks for their help. They have gathered almost 400 GOLD already. You can help them by donating any currency here .
My long term plans are to make some order in our conquered regions.
The medium term plans are to make the economy stronger and start a war closer to us.

Yesterday I received an interesting comment to my article. Somebody said it is a bad sign that if I start writing articles about Hungary and what should it do. In any case I would like to start a debate to see in which direction should the country go from this point on.
eRepublik is a game with no final goal, which could declare a country a winner. But still we have countries which can be declared winners. Romania was the first real winner in this game. They built a great empire, the first really big empire. But they were too focused on conquest and oppression, so they have fallen. The second winner and big empire that appeared in the game was and still is Indonesia. They have succeeded in keeping a good relation with population of the occupied regions, they have freed regions which did not provide any resources nor had no strategic importance, and they have focused on economy.
Hungary can be considered the third big empire and winner of eRepublik. Currently Hungary has 34 regions spanning across 3 continents and 11 countries – it has regions from Canada, USA, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Russia, China and North Korea. The only question is if Hungary will learn from Romania or Indonesia. Hungary is going forward, but none of us know if it still goes up-hill or if it is on a downward slope.
We will decide our fate. We can follow the example of Romania or the example of Indonesia. In my humble opinion world PEACE is not peace. We can take out all ex-Atlantis countries and rule over 50 regions, it is feasible, but what then? In need for new wars will we turn against our own allies? I believe that in order to be able to grow, Hungary needs to maintain a certain balance of power in the word, but keep the edge for PEACE.
We need a direction, we need to know what are we fighting for; we need to know the direction the country is going. Internal bickering has reached unseen heights ; many times the shit hit the fan. This happened because people do not have a goal, the try to find something to do that is fun. This is why people are PTO-ing opponent parties; this is why so many attacks appeared in the press. Without a goal the daily fighting has become such a routine like working and training. Fighting in battles across the sea is not that fun anymore. We need to put more weight on the social and economic side of this game.
I will draw up a few measures that I believe Hungary would need to take in order to maintain and increase its super power status.
Relation with opponents and conquered regions
Great power comes with great responsibility. We must keep the key regions, but we need to respect our enemies and give back them the regions that belonged to them and that strategically have no importance to us. We must remember that all the conquered countries have left is their pride and we can never take that away. If we do not act now our incapability to take the best decision will come back to haunt us and bite as in the ass in the future.
USA – we need to keep Alaska and give back North Dakota, Montana and Washington
I believe we must end this war as long as we have the upper hand. The USA is in the same position as Hungary was in the war with Romania. Remember that they had a humiliating peace offer that we have rejected. We should not make the same mistake. We need to close the war and close all active MPPs from this war. We will get 4 months to build a fortress in Alaska and after that we will fight if needed one on one for that region.
Canada – we need to keep Nunavut and Manitoba for their resources and must give back Saskatchewan.
I know that we have no active war with Canada, but we must still negotiate with them as long as we took 3 of their regions. We must keep the valuable ones and give them back Saskatchewan. We must negotiate a 4 months NAP. Enough time for all sides to prepare for the future.
North Korea – we should liberate Hamgyong
This region has no resource and no strategic importance. I know it would probably put back on the map a country that will again ally with our opponents, but as I told before we need to keep a certain balance of powers in the world. This move must be made after the 5th of September when they’ll have no President or Congress, so at least for 20 days they are not going to be able to do anything.
Switzerland – this is tricky, but I would liberate the entire country (Graubunden, Romandie, Svizzera italiana, Deutschsweiz) or give all regions to Italy
Terms and conditions should be discussed with the Theocrats.
Relations with neutral countries and land taken from them
We must try to focus and attract neutral countries to join PEACE. We must do it through diplomacy and not through force.
Denmark – we need to keep Nordjylland and Syddanmark
This region has no resources, but it has a high strategic value. As Denmark signaled us that they would like us to keep the region this is an easy one.
China – we need to keep Heilongjiang
This is the high iron region of Hungary so this is a must keep. As long as the number of real Chinese people this game is negligible, we must keep it. If in the future they’ll have a baby boom similar to that of Russia we must look for other high iron regions.
Relations with friendly and PEACE countries and territorial claims
We need to keep these ties really close. We must work on making PEACE and PEACE countries stronger. We must work on getting as many high resource regions for our allies as we can.
Russia – we must give back North Caucasus
We must give this region back to Russia. There are 41 oil companies here, but only 11 seem to be active (5 employees or more). From an economical perspective this will have no real influence on Hungary, as oil can be produced in Alaska. In my opinion a fair deal would be for Russia to pay the cost of the hospital and defense system (600 GOLD in total) while Hungary would start the RW and pay the Russian license for oil companies that are located there.
Ukraine – Siveria and Dnipro must be given back to Ukraine
This action carries a high risk as a Romanian PTO in Ukraine could lead to the loss of Podolia by Ukraine. In this case we must use brute force to get it back from Romania. It would be a difficult operation but I am for challenges. In any case I would give back Dnipro only after the 25th of September after there is certainty that Romania did not PTO Ukraine.
Germany – we need to give back Baden-Wurttemberg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia and keep Hesse.
As history has proved us, in the last 3 months Hungary saved Germany twice. After they take back control of Congress these regions will go back to them. We need to keep Hesse as it was the only way to help in case of further attacks.
Austria – Hungary will keep Burgenland
Economy
Due to the economic module we will face over production. The skill of players rises faster then the population so this leads to over production. Usually during wars demand rises, but right now when we are in the middle of the greatest world war even some weapon producers struggle to sell what thy produce. After this war ends the world economy will come crashing down.
In order to stop this over production we must focus on quality rather then quantity. This means that people with higher skill will need to work in companies which produce higher quality products.
Skill 0 – 2 -> Q1 Company
Skill 2 – 4 -> Q2 Company
Skill 4 – 6 -> Q3 Company
Skill 6 or above -> Q4 or Q5 company
In the mean time the state should give grants that would cover 50% of the upgrade cost of land companies from Q1 to Q2 and from Q2 to Q3.
In order to decrease the pressure on the local market the state should give grants for land companies to cover 50% of export license to ally countries that lack those resources.
The state would need to create GOLD reserves, which should amount to at least 10.000 GOLD.
Army and wars
Because most players are interested in the war module and because the economy depends on the war module we still need wars and to fight.
For around 15 days we could solve this by starting RWs in regions that should be given back to their original owners. During that we need to stock weapons and gold, so we can start new wars.
I would say that in the next 30 to 60 days our target should be Croatia. This war would be about LULZ and payback for what they did. By this move we could help out ally Serbia in reaching one of their goals (I will not be more specific here as most of you know what they want and where they need to get).
I would not attack Romania as it would generate too much RL hatred. Croatia through its MPPs is as strong as Romania so it will be fight to remember.
Political life
I have not seen real platforms for quite a while. We need to get back to our roots, to the days of political debates based on political values not on mud throwing.
Yesterday somebody made a good point. We should give power in the hands of people who not desire power! This way we can have people who would work in the interest of the country and not in the interest of keeping power.
Social life
I do not have many ideas about what to do, but we need to spice it up!
Public Private Partnerships
There are 2 great private initiatives:
The Ludovika Program – wealthier players receive a padawan and they must give them 2 weapons each day. This is great and should be extended
The Last Line of Defense (Utolso Vedelmi Vonal) – it is a private fundraiser and they will use the funds only if the country is under attack in an original region and if the President asks for their help. They have gathered almost 400 GOLD already. You can help them by donating any currency here .
My long term plans are to make some order in our conquered regions.
The medium term plans are to make the economy stronger and start a war closer to us.

We are the masters of our destiny. We must understand that great power comes with great responsibility. I hope that we as Hungarian citizens and that the Hungarian Government will take the best decision. I want to see Hungary as a winner in 12 months too. It is in our hands to succeed.

I agree, don't fight over IRL History, better make eHistory, like conquering the USA, Canada, and next Romania and Croatia 🙂.
Without commenting in detail what you are proposing in respect to which land to keep and which land to give back, I agree to the point that we cannot see this as what is the maximum we can get from this war to a perspective of how do you want the eworld to look like after the war and how we want to be seen by the rest of the eworld. I only would shift the starting point from eHungary to PEACE as an all.
The 2 reasons why we started the war were the following:
1 – Mitigate the threat eUSA represented to PEACE
2 – Teach a lesson on humility
Objective 1 was achieved probably even more completely than we expected
Objective 2 was partially achieved. A lot of influential eUSA citizens change their perspective of eWorld after this was. The ones than did not understand our message, will never be able to understand, consequently continuing the war will not allow us to achieve much more.
War objectives are important (also in RL) and if we want to be true to our objectives we should now sign a fair peace treaty and conclude this stage of the game.
In my opinion the peace treaty that is being proposed to the eUSA is fair but incomplete. We cannot close a war and just continue other wars with other ex-Atlantis countries. The peace treaty should include or be linked with separate agreements with at least eCanada and eSpain (the theocracy issue is different and should be addressed but at a different level and North Korea is not really important to no one except for eUSA).
Other point is that we cannot discuss this agreement was separate parts, we have to reach internal consensus and then discuss the terms of the agreement. Be as coordinated in diplomacy as we have been in war.
