[Graf Sprat] Its Funny how things work

Day 1,873, 22:31 Published in India India by Graf Sprat

Well, what a coincidence.. The last article I wrote was over 500 days back during my term as the eIndia CP, at the end of our war with ePakistan, and today I write again at the start of another war. This time with one of our oldest allies in this game- eCroatia.

I will not dwell over the war or the epic battles we had in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, since there are enough articles that have covered that in explicit detail and accuracy. But yeah, it was an awesome kicka$$ action yesterday which feels even better because we won 🙂.

I write this because there is something else, I want to express about this situation.

As far back as I can think in this game, Croatia and Romania have been the traditional frineds of eIndia, and I was indeed surprised (shocked is a better word) to come back to this game after an year to realize that we are at the cusp of a war with them..But then as they say, allies and enemies are never permanent in this world.

But I did always believe that while allies and enemies keep changing, friends don't. And my this belief was strengthened when eBulgaria left EDEN and we found each other on the opposite sides of the fence. However, I do not remember any instance when there was any bad blood between our countries. Forget bad blood, I did not even see any decrease in the warmth of friendship that a lot of eIndians shared with our eBulgarian Bros (and vice versa). Yes we were on the opposite sides in A GAME, and at times probably also contributed towards opposite sides in a battle, but there was never any direct attack on each other, either in the game mechanics or in media

And the stark contrast in the present situation is extremely sad, where eCroatia not only attacked us ( and I do not want to go into the Whys of that or who was really to be blamed), but also took out a media blitz to ridicule and abuse eIndia. And as Ashwamedh said, the saga of f*ckCows chat room has been repeated enough number to times for me to repeat again.

Anyway, so today eIndia for the 1st time in the history of eRepublic finds itself on the opposite side of EDEN, with friends like Romania and more specifically eChina staring at us from the other side of the battle lines. We may find ourselves being attacked by ones who were fighting on our side when we took on the armies of ePakistan and emerged victorious, but to my eIndian friends, I would say... Do Not make the same mistake what eCroatia made, but be like eBulgaria. Do not lose the friendship when the alliance is lost. We will fight if we must, but fight with honor and fight like Knights, not like street bandits, indulging in racial and personal insults. Most of the EDEN countries have been our friends and not just allies. So while the alliance breaks, lets ensure friendships don't.

Anyway, every cloud has a silver lining, and this one, I believe has a huge one. We find our old friends from eBulgaria and ePoland on our side again, plus an opportunity to make new friends. What future holds will unfold when it does, but surely its an interesting time for me to come back to the game. And as they say, GAME ON.....

Jai Hind..
