The reason to include LSD is good, but the reason to exclude LP is ridiculous.

For a smaller party LP has had a lot of action in government for the last months. And I was and am very pleased with it.

"Never change a winning team" is something I am perinently against, and personally, would never ever use it.

Everyone deserves a fair chance, and you must know that I do not have ANYTHING against LP.

Let's just keep my comment at a neutral: "unexpected turn of events"

Flando, again I see no reasoning behind your statement, only an opinion.
Not that you shouldn´t have one, but still disappointing to see a vague opinion prevail over a good relationship built up for months.

I will end my side of this by saying: I did not reject LP, I chose 2 others...

I have nothing against it, and asked them to supply advisors.

But I chose 2 other parties, and it would niet be good to make a 4 party gov.

fact remains LSD was chosen over LP...without a real good argument. strange things happen when you are on holiday for 2 weeks.

I have serious doubts about the LSD sudden surge in activity and the effectivness of their plans. LSD, IW and GLD would be three parties on three different parts of the political board. That CAN work, but then they would be in government for the sake of tackling specific issues. I don't see these specific issues mentioned anywhere, I don't see a statement of joint intent to solve them.

I see a goverment of 3 parties because we NEED 3 parties for a mayority in congress. I don't see these parties being chosen because they share ideals, i see them being chose for the sake of ticking some sort of box on someones list.

What is the idea behind LSD/GLD/IW in goverment and what is each of the parties brining to the board to make their coalition work?

I believe this new coalition of LSD/GLD/I&W would be the best for the UNL for now. The LSD is almost twice as active as before, which everybody must have noticed. We might have lost seats and we might not be the second largest party in the congress, but we are active and motivated, something I can't say of the previous government.

I am not calling LP unmotivated and inactive, but what I am saying is, that the new combination would do better.

We have no problems in taking SS-positions. They might not be as honourable as Ministers, but it's the best way to "train" people in politics. Being a State Secretary is a useful position, even though it's not as high as minister. 😉

While I feel a change is good, I deeply value LP as government partners, and feel bad they are not engaged in the decision-making process.

However, I think this might bring the gap between I&W and LSD much closer together that existed for a few months (Or well, since last october).

I must say the LP is very active too. Why could not be LSD/LP/GLD/IW?

Again, I did not put aside LP thinking "we cant use that".
I wanted 3 parties, as 2 would be hard to fill the posts.

The country needed something else then I&W+GLD+LP, we have seen that for months now.

That is something I wish to be very clear about: LP has been in government quite some times in a row now. I can hardly see why LP would feel neglected!

RepsaJ: Making a government with 4 parties will become nasty. When I had the opportunity to make a gov out of 2 parties, I would have. I can't, as we wouldnt have enough ministers and secretary's.


All 3 parties wanted in. I had to make a choice. I still am confident I made a right one.

Flando, you merely repeated what I said, it is a good reason to reel in LSD, for whatever they may have offered you. But god sakes, Exclude LP because the coalition has been there for too long?

all-round. Really disappointed to see the lack of actual good reasons to pick this coalition. Activity in LSD, ahh great, go for those because obviously LSD will have the edge over YOUR and LP because of the activity.

GLD's reason isn't even mentioned at all. I mean come on? Where do you share common ground that is so great to make this coalition work?

I think I&W couldn't go though this long without drama 😛. Its been awhile since a LSD article blaming the government... wait... their in the gov now!? THAT makes sense.....

-I think this is one of the best formateurs we had since a long time, to invite a party based on their plans and activity they have show in the last weeks.
-I agree that a coalition can stay to long, as we had a to long coalition from BP and LSD in the past.

-Choosing other parties, and let them govern this country is also very good for the politics. With this we get some more competition which can lead to better politics.
