*Fireside Chat* End of Round One, Round Two comes with Pain

Day 2,139, 21:54 Published in USA USA by Dauntless2000

Good Morning America,

It's time to talk about the end of the 69th congress and prepare to be a member of the 70th congress. I like to thank you for voting me back in and hope to continue to do good things.

So we had a tax increase from the original five percent to ten percent. Now I was pretty much in a corner, our savings are low thanks to the crazy amount of spending we had to do in the war against TWO that has now added Spain to the fight, combat payouts, and bills that needed to be paid. There was only one choice that we have, I voted yes. Now this was not the evil twenty five percent that was proposed earlier, but I know it hurts the American people. I have read people's op-Eds on how bad the tax rate is for regular citizens and also the private MUs, and yes I knew this was going to be a problem for you. The problem I have is, what was left for me to do when you find out that the treasury is being dried up. Government should never go broke and also pay its bills, but all of the spending that has been done for the war has hit the savings account hard. We have also seen an increase in the average wage as well, which also increases the average taxes people pay. The average wage for an American has gone from seventeen USDs in August to over thirty USDs at this present moment. To help you understand, under the 25% tax rate the average cost per building was four USDs per building. With the current tax rate with the increased average pay increase, it is three USDs per building. In other words, the increase in wages is also a part of the hurt as well as the doubling of the tax rate. The sad thing for me is I tried to make sure the money was spent wisely, but I don’t get a full say on what goes on with the money. This is why I believe the congress needs to talk about how Combat Pay is handled in the future and done wisely. Sadly my poll had a sample size that was too small to be useful but I will put it up at the end of the article on what I would like to see with combat payouts. I will state this, I would never put something on you that I am not going to suffer with you. I’m not wealthy, I barely ever had a thousand dollars in my account and more recently it has been 200-300, if I’m lucky. I had to abandoned my Q1 weapon factory and WRM work because that was mainly for a small amount of change so I can now and again buy some needed food. I’m bleeding as well with you, and I’m not running away. I voted for it, so I have to deal with it as well.

He is the big problem with combat payouts or how others know it as, CO. Congress is the power of the purse, not the executive branch. We control the power of the CP by controlling the money they want to use. At this time the best that happens is the secret board that has a few congress members on it, but sadly most congressmember will hear little of the what the executive branch wants to give out in battles. This is wrong in my eyes and needs to be fixed, and here is what I would like to see.

In cases of defense of our country or one of our bronations, the executive branch is free to set combat pay, but the price tag must be informed to the congress at the end of the battle or the end of the day that the battle ends. That way the Congress knows the cost and can work the budget to deal with the cost. Congress is designed to be slow and would not be able to respond as fast as the CP can.

In case of minor offenses, Congress will set a Combat Pay line in the budget for this. Your money should not be used like crazy in a battle that is not important. Setting a budget for this will control their spending on small battles. If their combat pay goes over-budget, the overdraft will be counted in the next budget.

For major offensives, The executive branch must come before congress with the plan on the offensive, the chance of completing their objectives, and the amount needed from the treasury. The congress will have 48 hours to discuss the plan before it can be put up for proposal.

Now I know what some will say, “why do we need this at all?” First of all this will provide a rule on how the government does combat pay. It is congress' job to make sure the executive branch does not treat the Treasury of the United States when it comes to combat pay the same way a teenage girl treats her father’s credit card at the mall. Someone else would say,” What if we are already doing that, why make it a law and a part of the constitution of the United State?” This is a ritual act made by our president like the RL presidents doing only two terms back in the day. That all changed when FDR ran for four terms and because of this, congress made it a constitutional law that all presidents get to only run for two terms. Just because one president does it, doesn't mean the next one will do it as well. By doing this, every president will have to follow this act and will make sure we don’t have someone spending a lot of cash in the oval office. Also this act brings a balance to the branches of government, the congress will make sure the cash is spent wisely and also the executive branch does not have full control of the combat pay system.

Now on the other votes after that long talk on the work taxes. More nations requested for MPPs renewals with the US. The nations of Denmark, Cyprus, Chile, Germany, Italy, and The Republic of Moldova. Each nation has earned the support of the United States and I was happy to support their request to have their MPPs renewed. Darian Dracona requested that we add more money to the CBO, I did allow this to happen. The dumbest thing is to not allow the government to pay its bills. I have supported Wild Owl to be the new Speaker of the House. Now with the silly peanut gallery. They got busy at the eleventh hour of the 69th congress. Zatey attacked first with a work tax change to one percent, after what I talked about earlier there was no question that this was a no vote. He then hit with a change to our import tax on food. Again this was a no because of the destruction to the economy. ArchAngel 70 struck with a presidential impeachment that was always going to fail. The final move was done by K1tho, who wanted to kill the commune system by changing the minimum wage from one dollar to twenty. This was rejected and the AFA assault fizzled out.

Thank you America for spending the time to talk to you. I know that I didn’t get into the Bropact that we are creating with Germany, but I felt like I made this article long enough. I will make sure to talk about this in the next Fireside Chat. Also, I will be placing the poll in this article about making combat pay a part of the budget. If you have not voted, please do so I have a good idea to see if I can push this into the government. I will like to thank my CAB for their help and also hope that they stay on with me for this second term. I also need to thank you the American people for giving me a second term in the chamber and hope to continue to serve you. As for me, I will be taking a small trip to a small town called Night Vale before returning to the chamber. They invited me to look around their quaint little town and I hope to have a nice stay and meet all of their citizens.
