[Fataliix4CP] Let's Give This Another Go

Day 2,718, 17:04 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Fataliix

Hello again eUK. Been a crazy month, hasn't it?
As Minister of Foreign Affairs, I've been at the centre of it all. From coordinating support for a revolution after MEK's takeover, to working with Scarfar after he unexpectedly bought the Dictatorship, and now removing France from our cores. It's been a crazy month and I've been involved in everything (except Finance, I guess...). Despite being in much better shape than we were under MEK, the eUK still faces some tough challenges. Right now, above all else, we need stability and continuity. As perhaps the most involved citizen over this past month, these are qualities that I can provide better than anyone else.

This next month will require some careful diplomacy. We need to continue rebuilding the bridges we burnt and forging new friendships, and it shouldn't need to be said that we could do without making any more enemies right now.
There may also be some growing pains with the newly elected Dictator, but I don't foresee this being a real problem as we have two fantastic candidates. I know I can work with either.

As well as these challenges, we need to get our finances back on track and restore our core bonuses, things that aren't possible without a united nation. I know that there is an anti-UKRP sentiment fuelled by perceived power plays, and we're lucky to have citizens so vigilant, but I believe that I've proven I will always put the country above party politics.

This won't be an easy month, but I acknowledge the issues we face and understand how to confront them as I'm already doing so.

That was all a bit too serious, wasn't it?
Could have done with some memes or something, but I feel that right now it's better to be straight about what we're facing.

If we can get our economy back on track I'd like to go ahead with the TG grants I promised (pending Congress approval) last month. We've been puzzling over what to do with our money to keep it from attracting another MTO, and I still believe we should use it to invest in silly newbies that will become future leaders. I wouldn't have bought my first training contract without a little help, and I'll pay that forward for as long as I play. Making our most promising players indebted is not the way to go.

Rob the Bruce before I paid for his TGs. Now he's only emotionally indebted...

I'd also like to pinch something from my rival of last month (sorry Max), national strikes. At the time I was cynical that we had the activity to make the idea effective, but the number of citizens that have expressed an interest at running, or participating, in one this month has been a wake up call. It might not be a regular thing, but we'll have some fun.
Some of our close allies have also suggested cooperating in such a way, so we may well take a strike international. Huzzah! \o/

I won't promise anything that I don't think we can achieve. We face a number of struggles, our government are still locked out of their orgs and the nation continues to feel the repercussions of the MTO, but I can promise that a month from now we will be in a better position.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. This was far too serious.
I'll publish some of the options we have to improve our economic situation in the next article (give back the f*cking money BA), but it's all things that Congress are already figuring out.
