[EZC Media] What does EZC mean to you?

Day 2,188, 11:17 Published in USA USA by Bucephalus92

Greetings bros,

For today's article I will be writing about what has kept me in EZC for so long and announce an EZC member writing contest.

It may seem strange, but to begin my article about why I have chosen EZC as my military home I must begin by talking about an entirely different browser game. Now in the interest of not having Plato pull this article for speaking about their competition I will not name the game that I am speaking of. Suffice to say it was a game based around forming alliances of between 50-300 people to seize control of an area through military means. In this game every player had cities which they administered for the purpose of warfare, both offensive and defensive. Days would come where there would be huge alliance or even multi-alliance wide offensives against either particular territories, or against specific players.

The key to this game was communication, it was all about getting the right defensive units into the right place at the right time to fend off attacks, or sending your own attacking units to clear the way for an alliances mates city-takeover units. Either way, having the support of the members of your alliance was absolutely critical to any sort of success, and different alliances took different approaches to ensuring that the support was there when it was needed.

The alliance I was in was number one on that server for the last three years of its life, dominating roughly half the world with our allies. We weren't number one because we had the most people, there were alliances set up against us that had 5 times our numbers. We didn't have all the top players, our alliance was made up of newer players than the previous number one alliance and as such their players were atop the leaderboards more so than ours. We didn't even always have the ability to plan our operations openly in our own forums and skype chats, as the enemy used spies to infiltrate our ranks. But what we did have was our spirit, expressed in our motto

When you logged on and saw hundreds of attacks on their way to your cities you could rest assured that the might of our entire alliance stood behind you. Everyone sent everything they could all the time, every time. When you asked a question, someone answered it. When you asked for support on a conquest, you got it. In this alliance, this community, when you asked for help, you got it.

When the server was getting towards the days when it would be shut down I can remember our number one attacker posting on the forum about how all the time we spent supporting each other and joking around on the forums and in our skype chat had created a community that we were all proud to belong to, and one that we would miss. It was the kind of community in a browser game that I didn't think I would ever find again...

Imagine my surprise when I found Easy Company, it was exactly what I had so recently left behind when the server closed. When someone on the wall asks a question, it gets answered. When someone needs some food or tanks to keep fighting, they get it, and when someone needs some cc to move from a conquered region, it gets sent to them. Not even just from the leaders or officers, but from everyone, all the time, every time. All for one, and one for all. I don't know what changes Plato will make next, or what will happen with alliances or the United States, but what I do know is that so long as I am here, I'll be in Easy Company.

Alright now that I've rambled for a good long while its time to announce the writing competition. Open to EZC members, whoever writes the best article as judged by the leadership will receive ten gold. The general theme is to write about what makes EZC unique, chronicle your time in EZC, or just write about why you chose to join EZC and have thus far remained here with us. Make sure to get your submissions in by the deadline, which is the end of day 2196
