[EX-PREZ] Why We Should Listen to Each Other

Day 1,178, 19:12 Published in Singapore USA by American Border Collie

Greetings, Singapore!

I have tried my hardest to pull myself away from this all, but I can't seem to succeed.

Anyway, I have been reading in the media about why or why not to wipe out Malaysia. Although I enjoy a healthy debate, now is just not the time for it. Although Parrington and TeMing have turned this into a training war, it is still difficult on both nations. However, this is the decision made by both governments given the cards (and giant Natural Enemy turds) they were dealt upon being elected.

I need to give these guys credit. They were elected and forced to hit the ground running a war that neither side supported. I'm sure that you all are blaming Malay's congress for voting, and have good reason to, but the fact remains that Fruitcommando was the one who proposed this again. Congress only shares secondary blame for this, as there were still enough under Fruitcommando's "Emperor" spell to pass it. I need to also give credit to Thedark Ace for quickly proposing a counter Natural Enemy proposal, which I voted for prior to leaving office.

So, the point is this: Parrington is President. I know that not everyone can agree, but we need to trust what he is doing for now. Follow his leadership. I also support his decision to not wipe eMalaysia. If you disagree, PM him. Don't draw it out into the public for debate and attention. Singapore is small enough that you are actually able to do that. We need to be united in our efforts here.

The situation that I had to deal with was completely different from the current situation. When I made the decision last month to wipe eMalaysia in Operation Fruitsquash, it was because we had no choice. We did not have a friendly or honest administration to negotiate with, and only one party was ruling the country. There was clearly no end in sight to continuous war.

As I saw the Natural Enemy bill being passed in the Malaysian Congress and TeMing leading by a landslide in the election, I began to fear for Southeast Asia. If there were just enough to pass the proposal, then there would be enough to successfully impeach TeMing upon election and make Collinar president. In fact, I had expressed that exact concern to my ministers days before the election and my decision to endorse Logan Dunleavy.

What happened next, though, made all the difference in this conflict. Impeachment was indeed proposed for TeMing on his first day, but it failed! The way the impeachment rules worked is that once an impeachment is unsuccessful, Congress must wait 7 days to try again. That is more than enough to help keep this war manageable for both sides, and kept a friendly administration in power in eMalaysia.

eMalaysia has visibly and undoubtedly made a lot of progress since the end of Operation Fruitsquash. I am very proud to see them heading down the path of stability. Wiping Malaysia will only undo nearly everything that we have accomplished so far. In addition, taking Malaysia will double our population and only open up our regions to resistance wars and attack medal hunters. We do not want that. We need to work with Malaysia in this conflict, and learn how to coexist peacefully while dealing with the warmongers and trolls who started this war in the first place.

I can understand the other side of this too. However, I need to clarify something. Back when we had been attacked the first time, I had reached out to Indonesia for some assistance. They sent a few tanks to assist us. We are on their radar because I was the one who tapped them on the shoulder first.

I know that with war, we are mostly concerned with the military aspects. However, the Foreign Affairs department must be active as well. There is no way that we would have survived the last war without TheDark and our Foreign Affairs department and our foreign allies. What needs to be done is to tap all those countries on the shoulder and inform them to ask their troops to either hold back or withdraw. It is very difficult and costly to compete with foreign tanks, whether on our side or Malay's side.

I agree that more wars will make this get a bit out of hand, but after everything is done here over the next two or three days, that is it! I cannot conscionably support another war, whether it is in self-defense or in response to other aggressors. Singapore and Malaysia are war ravaged enough.

Please, this Singo-Malay conflict is nearly over. Please just hang in there for a few more days and we will survive!
