[ESO] The Rover for Congress in Dublin

Day 1,737, 09:42 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by TheRover

Hi

I'm TheRover and I'm asking for your vote in Dublin this coming election.

If the good people of Dublin elect me as their representative, they can be sure that they will get an active MP, who will listen to and represent their interests, my door is always open for citizens who need help or advice.

About me:

I've been playing since January this year and have always remained a UK citizen. Until recently, I was a member of the Liberty MU and was elected captain on 4 occasions.

If you want to have a nosey at me, be my guest: http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/5550354

My beliefs:

NHS - I love the concept of the NHS, but I do believe it needs a little tweaking. The cost to the government is quite large and I would like to see us get better value for money. I would like to see some of the money spent on the NHS invested in new players so that they can become self sufficient more quickly.

Citizenship - I read a lot in the press (worldwide) about dodgy dealings surrounding citizenship applications. Please be assured that I will not entertain any dodgy looking requests and will follow parliament's rules to the letter.

War - Most of my time in the eUK has been spent under occupation of some form. At last we are free and have all our bonuses. I do not believe that we should be going looking for conflict any time soon. We need to consolidate and grow our strength. I will not support any motion that launches an agressive war. I will however support as neccessary any motion required to defend these islands or support our allies.

Engagement in Politics - I see a big disconnect between the public and politicians in our society. Every month, lots of people get elected to congress and we never hear from them again. I undertake to provide a weekly report of my actions and the general goings on in the House of Commons, in game. There is lots of activity on the forums, but I think too many people forget that a large number of players stay within the confines of the game and do not bother with the forums and IRC, these citizens deserve to know about the actions of their elected representatives just like forum users do.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to vote for TheRover in Dublin
