Join the new world

Many of you in ESO will know me so I don't need an introduction. I will be running for PP in the upcoming election. Despite being in the party since it was revived I have never actually ran for PP but now I believe it is my time to step up to the plate and provide my expertise. I don't need to tell you all about me, you should know by now that I am very experienced, so in this article I will just provide many ideas that I will hope to introduce if elected as PP.


Return of the Rota
ESO is known as one of the most active parties, a party you will often see in the media. Since we got into the top 5 our media activity has slightly decreased. A few members have been starting to write ESO articles again while others have been asking for the rota to come back. If elected PP (or if the winner asks me to) I will dig out the rota that we used during our most active periods, and encouraging members to write more articles.


Chief and Congress
I have been Chief Whip for ESO over the past few months which has saw our Congress activity increase significantly. I have implemented some ideas which have helped our Congressmen work together and be more active. If elected I will want to pass on the reign of Chief Whip onto someone else, teaching them about what I do and giving them the chance to implement further ideas of their own. Fresh ideas are needed in parties, and it is something ESO has always done well.

Similarly I will be trying to get some more active Congressmen for ESO. If elected I want to see more coordination through the party, as we have the possibility (with 7 or 8 Congressmen) to significantly effect Congress votes, and we have the ability to push through policies that we strongly believe in. eUK parties tend not to be good at this, I want ESO to lead the way.

We may also be in cooperation with parties outside of the top 5, something that ESO has done several times in the past, but other parties do not do.


ESO Hall of Fame
Something nice that I think will encourage activity, and will allow us to honour those who have contributed significantly to ESO. I want to create an ESO Hall of Fame, for which one person will be inducted into each month. Every party member will be able to nominate people after Congress elections and all nominees will be voted on by the party around the last two days of the month, so it will be a 48 hour vote. I will figure out the specifics if elected but the general idea is there and it is something will be definitely implement.


ESO Census and Policies
If elected I run a census near the start of my term. The census will include several questions about people's own policies so that we can gain a broader picture of what our members believe in. Through this I will be able to put some policies to a vote while others can be put to more debate. I believe this is the best way to do things as it should give a voice to those who are not active in discussions and it will also get people to give views, which does not always happen when we start with a debate.

Also with the census we will be able to get an accurate figure of how many active members we have and who wants to get more involved in the party.

Party Roles
The vice party president will be responsible for helping me accomplish the new ideas I plan to introduce to the party, as well as keeping everything organised. They will essentialy be my deputy.

The counsillor will be the in-game title for the Chief Whip. They will be taking over my current role and doing the things outlined above.

The spokesperson will be in charge of media activity in ESO. They will co-maintain the rota with me and will be in charge of getting other members to write articles. They will also have the publish important ESO related articles.

The secretary general will be the head of recruitment. Recruitment is important over this next term as we try to secure our top 5 position.

Any member who wants to take up a position should message me over the next few days. Only if no one suitable messages me will I ask specific members to take up positions.
