[eSAAF] Blue Giant ♥ White Dwarf

Day 2,293, 08:15 Published in South Africa South Africa by South African Armed Forces

Prosirius
Sirius is the brightest and 5th closest star to us. It is a binary star system of a blue giant Sirius A, 25x brighter than our sun and twice as large, dancing with the white dwarf Sirius B which is slightly bigger than the earth.

This tangoing duo have been important since ancient times. Sirius is also known as the "Dog Star" because of its prominence in the constellation Canis Major. The heliacal rising of Sirius marked the flooding of the Nile in Ancient Egypt and the "dog days" of summer for the ancient Greeks, while to the Polynesians it marked winter and was an important star for navigation around the Pacific Ocean. Astrology marks Sirius as good fortune and prosperity.

To us it represents a pact of steel, our big brother. South Africa was admitted into Prosirius, Sirius' alliance of minnows or B-team. This is the culmination of some hard work and serious negotiations to forge a new identity for us. We are glad to be part of a family. While we understand our relative significance within the greater structure, it also marks an end to a solo struggle against overwhelming odds. When our number come up, it will be glorious.

In this spirit be aware who our allies are. While the big-boys of Poland, Spain, UK, USA need us less, the little guys are exactly like us. Watch out for their RWs and attacks in spire of the silly Battle Order system we are subjected to. More MPPs will come, but the problem of RW remain. Keep eyes peeled.

Mass Attacks
Mass Attacks are practice for coordination within the greater alliance. It is critical that you try participate. Its only with people showing up regularly that the ball gets rolling.
