There is no flaming, swearing, racism, plagiarism, vulgarity or anything that is not abiding Erepublik rules. There is just comments, thoughts and wishes of eCitizens of eWorld to make eRepublik a better gaming experience. This is clearly how much Game Management respects its community and community's wishes. I am republishing the article as it was and leaving you to comment on where flaming is. Apparently, I will keep republishing this article until I am banned.

Dear eRepublik Management,

This is yet another "make changes to this game" article from a different side of angle.

We have seen many big companies going from 95% market share to debris in this short WWW history. You know the examples, everybody does; ICQ, IE, MSN, MySpace etc. I am writing this article because I have serious concerns that eRepublik is also going to turn out to be one of these epic fails. If you analyze those failures, it's very easy to find one obvious common mistake: A very bad CEO and thus "Not listening to your community." I will tell you about this very bad CEO stereotype. His biggest mistake has always been that he thinks, the most important duty of a company is every year to make good profit and pay good dividens to share holders.

Well, he is wrong.

Profits do matter as well as growth. However, the equally important factor, if not most, for a company is its brand value; and in your sector of online gaming this means your user's, gamer's liking of this very game.

I have been playing this game now for over a year and there have been lots of major changes during this time. I would like to evaluate your decisions with my humble opinions and comments when necessary.

Following are 20 decisions I remember you have taken in almost one year.

Headers shall be described as follows;
Simulation sense of game: How the genre of the game moves between being a simulation game as announced to an arcade game or vv.
Short term profitability: Increasing income for the company
Brand value: How players respond to your decisions; with their happiness or hatred.

I would like to comment specifically to some of these decisions:
1. I'm guessing you can't bother or spare work force to fixing forums.
3. Everybody likes missions, especially what comes out of them; and there is nothing you're losing with having these; and yet most of the time my missions list is empty.
4. Your e-citizens hate invite missions because it adds to your image of being money oriented all the time. Make your citizens happier to attract more people to the game, don't force them to.
5. This is a sad change and a huge step down for a simulation game; being able to produce only two products from only two raw materials. People need more flavors, more space to play on economy.
6. Organizations were the underground, black side of eRep economy. You've got to let them, your hardcore and expert gamers survive.
7. Totally not-simulation.
8. Another poor decision narrowing economic module.
9. It did add a flavor to game and made some people happy, though 60% felt cheated, betrayed and became unhappy.
10. Excellent addition to game. Bringing a purpose to daily clicks and presenting your players a bar and a bazooka everyday, making everyone happy and adding depth to game.
12. Another sad attempt by money mongers in community eye.
13. Leaving almost all 3rd party works crippled almost disrespectfully. These people have put their effort for great websites, tools, extensions, even IRC bots; and you can just kill them all in one swift. Egov was one of the best sides of this game.
14. Most of your players saw what you did there, and did not like it. Though I see it brought a lot of new players to game and think it was worth it.
15. People get very happy when they rank up. So you should let them rank up all the time. Add more ranks to this game, rearrange them. It's free!
16. More like an interface improvement than a change. It tidied things around and people liked it.
17. Worst of all. Clever players already see that you did nothing but divided all STR by 2. People who could put 80 golds, hated the game. People who couldn't, hated the game more. There were much better ways to favor new players, definitely not this.
18-19. Should have been done a long time ago.
20. Say goodbye to economy module. Get born into a simulation (!) game where there is only one currency in the world. I believe this is what happens when crisis is REALLY there.

Very easy 2 do list for game management, to show you care:
1. Game image
- Get rid of plato account, kill him; it represents OLD you. People hate him and this will be the start of a new era.
2. Politics module is dead because of vote selling and fakes; revive it:
- Do not show results during election
- Increase 99999 donate limit
- Make additional resources of a country tradable with other nations (this will add a lot of depth to foreign politics)
- Add more movement/options space for congress members
3. Economics module is dead because of restrictions:
- Add house, ticket, iron, fruit etc. productions
- Remove bot, don't worry, everything will be better!
- Fix taxes (in game 10% is 9.09%, 5% is 4.76% etc)
4. War module is surviving but people hate it:
- Replace influence % bar with influence bar, don't worry, I promise you'll earn more money by respecting your players
- Add nations influence % on battle screen so we can see the importance of alliances much better. People will love it.
5. Media module
- Give search option, old articles are impossible to find
- Give more MM medals, make it easier, as long as people are happy it works.
6. Revive API, 3rd party developers are who make this game playable without your payment.

Know that;

Your players, your community, the number of them is what's making you the market leader and letting you stand. Do not do epic mistakes of other companies. Embrace your players. Listen to them. Making your community happy is what will bring you profit and growth in the long term.
