[eRepOlympics] Explaining the Biathlon

Day 2,268, 09:11 Published in USA USA by The Wild Card

This weekend kind of got away from me, so this article is delayed in my mind, but it's probably right on schedule? Probably not. Anyway today I come to talk to you about the first and more intensive event in the eRepublik Olympics, the biathlon.
Requirements
Basically there are only 2 requirements and they are very simple to fulfill.

1. You must have a team of 5 players who are all in the same division at the beginning of the tournament. You may compete if you are Division 1 or Division 4, and you'll only be competing against fellow division members as a team.

2. You must sign up on the form here and donate 1 GOLD to me

What do I do then?
Once the Olympics begins on February 7th your challenge will begin.

Sign ins: Every day there will be a sign in that every member of your team will need to complete. You will receive one point for every sign in you have and at the end of the competition the team with the most points will receive the highest possible sign in score.

Fighting: Fight! Literally fight as much as you can. The team with the most influence will receive the highest possible score in the influence category and the team with the most tank fights will receive the highest score in the tank category. Data will be pulled from eGov4you.

Scoring
As stated there will be a scoring system. Each division will be ranked in ascending order and awarded points 1 to whatever the number of teams who compete is. So the worst team will get 1 point and the best team will get the highest point total. The sign in total will then be multiplied by 3 and the three categories will be added together for a total score. The top 3 teams in each divisional competition will medal and the top 6 in the divisions will receive prizes.

Scoring formula: (3 * Sign In) + Influence + Tank = Total Score

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded based on the number of entrants, but tentatively the prize for the winning teams for each division would be 25 GOLD and 1000 Q7 weapons, with other gold and weapon prizes being handed out to the remaining top 6 teams.

We will also be handing out a prize for weekly competition and some one time only prizes for certain battles at certain times. These will be announced in this paper as the time comes. The weekly competition will be scored the same as the overall competition.

Major donors will be represented in future articles and if you'd like to sponsor a competition please feel free offer what you feel is fair.
