Greetings, ladies and gentlemen!

Somewhere around February 2011 a number of new features was implemented in the game: the PM (Messages) system was updated, shouts with voting and comments, etc. In my opinion, those were all good. However, we in eRussia soon discovered that our new player message turned into a heap of indecipherable tags and text. We looked at welcome messages in other countries, and, sure enough – the situation was the same all over the eWorld.

Initially we thought this is a bug, or something temporary, and it would be fixed eventually. But no, the bb-tags stopped working for good, so the presidents had to get rid of all the tags and decrease the length of the message, which was capped at 1000 symbols (this was later changed to 2000, though).

In order to better illustrate the difference in welcome messages before and after the changes, consider these eUSA welcome messages in February and March 2011:

I believe that the first variant is considerably better 🙂

However, this is not all. Consider the current welcome message in eRussia.
Here text is in blocks, all links are clickable – one can live with that. However, what new players actually receive, is this:

That’s just a wall of text! Links are not highlighted and aren’t clickable, there are no paragraphs… Overall, not a pleasant thing to read.

We ask the Developers to allow the usage of bb-codes in Private Messages, so that all countries can once again have an intuitive and functional welcome message – such as this! The better the welcome message, the more chances there are that a new player will linger in the eWorld enough to stay here for good, and join the great eRepublik community.

Доброго времени суток, дорогие читатели!

Примерно в начале февраля 2011 года в игре произошли нововведения: была улучшена система Личных Сообщений, появились шауты с возможностью комментирования и так далее. На мой взгляд, это было хорошее изменение. Однако вскоре мы обнаружили, что наше привет-сообщение для только что зарегистрировавшихся игроков превратилось в кучу тегов. Просмотрев привет-сообщения других стран, мы поняли, что проблема повсеместная.

Тогда мы решили, что это временно и что скоро всё наладится, но нет. Шло время, а bb-коды в сообщениях по-прежнему не работали. Делать нечего - пришлось всем президентам убирать из приветственного сообщения все теги, да к тому же ещё и серьёзно сокращать объём, чтобы влезть с максимальное число символов - 1000 (со временем оно было увеличено до 2000).

Чтобы получше продемострировать разницу между видом сообщений ДО и ПОСЛЕ изменений, предлагаю рассмотреть приветственные сообщения еСША в феврале и марте 2011 года:

• Мартовское привет-сообщение
На мой взгляд, первый вариант значительно лучше 🙂

Однако, это ещё не всё. Рассмотрим текущее приветственное сообщение в еРоссии. Здесь текст разделён, а ссылки кликабельны - в принципе более-менее смотрится... Но в личку новичкам приходит немного другой вариант:

Это просто стена, не правда ли? Ссылки не выделены и сливаются с текстом, абзацев нет и в помине... В общем, неприятно.

Итак, мы просим Администрацию разрешить использование bb-кодов в Личных Сообщениях, чтобы все страны смогли снова ввести наглядное и функциональное привет-сообщение вроде этого! Ведь чем понятнее и полезнее будут приветственные сообщения в странах еМира, тем больше будет вероятность, что новичок останется в игре и присоединится к сообществу игроков eRepublik.
