Hello again, dear readers. Many things have changed in the New World since my last article. The Italian liberation, the Swedish claim on Lithuanian grain, the Balkans (again), Iran's attack on USA claims in Pakistan, Indonesian reoccupation of India, and, of course, the Russian occupation of Ukraine.

Italian liberation

This is a nice little surprise. After loosing almost half of its territory to Slovenia with almost no resistance, Italy decided to make a stop to the Slovenian conquest.
In one no-brain action, Italy sent a few of their best soldiers (and some foreign mercenaries) to start resistance wars in all occupied provinces and tank them until they won. This might be no-brain, but it was very effective. Just look at the Before and After photo I made:

So another war gone to the dogs after such a promising start. It seems like it's time for a nation with a bigger player "budget", like Serbia, to try out Italy for size. The reason why I say this is that those resistance wars would be much easier quelled in Serbia as Serbia has much more players than Slovenia.

The Swedish claim of Lithuanian Grain



As you can see from the picture I made, Sweden will soon find herself with 4 new neighbors, 2 of which are Baltic states. One of my Swedish colleagues wrote about claiming Grain regions from Lithuania, and the general public response was good. I want to show you guys that there are other options to all-out attack.
Okay, at this moment, Lithuania has only 4 alliances: Turkey, Russia, Hungary and France with one more in the signing process: Estonia.
Sweden has exactly 6 alliances signed, which gives her advantage. Especially the one with Poland.
Let's analyse the situation here. Sweden declares Lithuania for their Natural Enemy the same moment they gain common border (after the introduction of new Countries). Lithuania expects this, so they sign a counter proposal about an hour later, so bonus damage is almost annulled. Sweden has the advantage in the shape of Beta-giants, but that isn't that important anymore as anyone can tank without limit.
So one day later, with a bit of luck Sweden can conquer the bordering Lithuanian Minor region.
In one day, whole of ex-Phoenix can sign alliances with Lithuania. How?
> President of Serbia proposes an alliance with Lithuania.
> President of Slovenia proposes an alliance with Lithuania.
> President of Indonesia proposes an alliance with Lithuania.
...
So this could end up a bloody and expensive war, probably without gains (grain for Sweden anyhow). So, we could try that or we could try to make a deal with Lithuania!
Lithuania has 2 extra Grain regions. They need Aluminium and Cattle.
Sweden has 1 extra region for both resources and we need Grain.
Can you see the deal here? I can. So, think about it! There's essentially no more Phoenix and EDEN, only regional alliances based on interest.

The Balkans (again)

Very irritating subject. Yes, the Balkan cage is a very, very annoying thing. It's even more annoying when the states in it declare 5 circular wars that need attention every day.
Anyways, since my last article a lot of circular things happene😛
Hungary attacks and conquers Banat only to lose it in a resistance war 24 hours later. Hungary attacks Oltenia.
Serbia attacks South Dalmatia, Croatia. Croatia attacks West Srpska Republik, Serbia...
Bulgaria successfully defended Ruse from FYRM attack and counterattacked in Eastern Macedonia. After defending it, FYRM attacked Sofia (again 😁). Turkey broke their cycle with Greece by declaring Bulgaria for their Natural enemy thus giving up on taking regions from Greece by loosing the 10% bonus against them in favor of Bulgaria.
Turkey conquered Burgas from Bulgaria as the Bulgarians tanked their brains out in Easter Macedonia, in vain. Turkey is now attacking Varna, a Grain-rich region of Bulgaria and a center of their population.


Iran's attack on USA claims in Pakistan

Iran declared USA for their Natural Enemy yesterday and successfully liberated the Pakistani region of Balochistan from the US clutch. They also enriched their country with a Iron-rich region.
But, China is declaring Iran for their Natural Enemy as we are speaking. 6 hours passed since the start of the declaration and the only hope for Iran to waste China's NE declaration is to start a liberation war in Balochistan this very moment. If they succeed in liberating it, the NE declaration will practically fail as no war will be declared. It's as simple as that: China and Iran loose common border -> NE declaration fails.



Indonesian reoccupation of India

Do you remember the good old days (for some)? Yes, I'm talking about the Indonesian occupation of India, Australia and South Africa. Soon, they will only be missing South Africa as the occupation of India has once again begun!
A while ago, I wrote about Indonesia setting up a base of operations for a conquest of India. This came true:
Indonesia conquers South Thailand, Malaysia.
Indonesia declares India as their Natural Enemy.
Indonesia attacks Tamil Nadu.
Indonesia conquers Tamil Nadu.

Russian occupation of Ukraine

Russians occupied all regions of Ukraine apart from Grain-rich Siveria (just liberated from Hungary) and Iron-rich Donbas (under attack by Russia).
Once these two regions are occupied by Russia Czechoslovakia, which now holds Subcarpathia, will start a resistance war in it and put Ukraine back on the map!
Anyways, there actually is a nice opportunity for Hungary to get a Grain region back from Ukraine by making a successfull resistance war in Sloboda or Dnipro after Russia wipes out Ukraine.
After the resistance war succeeds, Hungary declares Ukraine for their Natural Enemy and wipes them out again, ending up with a Grain-rich region.
EDIT
Hungary lost both of their regions in Ukraine, so the only hope for Grain is to make a swap through Subcarpathia (Czechoslovakia) and Galicia and Londomeria to Volhynia (Russia). Resistances need to be arranged with the respective governments.
