[eIPL] Bidding details and the list of winners

Day 1,398, 07:09 Published in India India by shah007zaad

Hey mates,

It was a successful bidding procedure for eIPL v1. I've sent the messages to the respective team owners who won the bid and other details. I hope you transfer the bid amount ASAP. Let's start the competition!

FOREWOR😨

I've maintained utmost secrecy throughout the bidding time and never disclosed any details if any. I assure you that the entire bidding procedure was honestly done. Though at times, I was tempted to give away the details to some of my friends who re-bid for much higher amounts than their first ones, even when they were able to get their first team of choice, I refrained from doing so. Hence I did my part professionally and there wasn't any tampering!

I've never expected such huge amounts of bidding prices. My initial thought was the winning bids for teams would go as high as 2000 INR and not more and the pool of prize money will be around 15-20k INR. But actual figures were mind blowing!

However, some of the extravagent bidders did bid high for following reasons. Firstly, they wanted to promote the event and escalate the activity, excitement among eIndians and hence were ready to sponsor the tourney. But they eventually added up their bidding amount to the sponsoring amount to make the figure big and get the first team choice! Winning or loosing doesn't matter, the fun and excitement is what matters.

I've encouraged everyone to form a franchise and bid in partnership to get maximum involvement in terms of people participating and also it increased the prize pool.

TOTAL BIDDING AMOUNT : 54,280 INR
TOTAL PRIZE POOL : 60,000 INR approximately (worth ~ 120 gold)

Note: Nikhilmalik's and Dharma's bids were equal. I evaluated Nikhilmalik's bid as he tendered the quote earlier than DV, and also there wasn't any clash of team choice priority between them, so no problem at all!

eIPL version 1:

1. If you want to change the name of your team, do send it before tomorrow's eRep day change. If you do not, I'll consider the default team names mentioned above!

2. Will setup a blog tonight or tommorow, that'll be completely dedicated to eSports simulation. It'll also have the buzz about eFormula-1 too. Wanted enthusiaists who can contribute to the blog to raise the excitement bar throughout the tournament.

3. Matches will start on Tuesday hopefully without any delay. The schedule will be released shortly after tomorrow's day change.

4. Tournament is round robin league with each team playing other nine twice, once at home and another away. So, total 18 rounds of league matches per team. Top four qualify for knockout.

5. Daily two rounds of matches will be simulated and the results with detailed scorecards will be published in the blog, at eIndian forums and timely updates here via eRep articles with concerned links. If someone is interested in posting daily updates in their newspapers, they are welcome! Reward of 1 Q5 weapon from my side per article update for those who are interested 😉

6. Tournament will last 12-15 days hopefully.

DOCTORING THE PITCH:

As you are the owner, you got the team and you just relax with some small assignments to your backroom staff. Virtual managers will manage your teams throughout the tournament. Being professionals, they'll deal everything related to cricketing matters and you better be on sidelines. They'll lookup the best possible XI for the matches and will manage injuries and rehab if any 😉 They'll decide as to which pitch to play on depending on the situation (for home matches).
Just you can give an idea to your manager before the tournament.

1. BOUNCE : 1 to 10 scale

Below 4 is odd bounce, 4 - 7 is a good pitch to bat and bowl(sporting) and above 7 is a good pitch with some good bounce.
Note: If you favor complete batting tracks, 7 - 10 is fine. But remember, even not so good batsmen will play great on such pitches and very high scoring games are on cards.

2. SPIN : 1 to 10 scale

Self explanatory. Higher the scale(that is towards 10), greater the turn! values nearing 1 are flat pitches and nearing 10 are spinner's paradise and batsmen's hell!

The final condition of the pitch will be the mixture of two values above! If you want to doctor the pitches to your choice, keeping in mind the stregths of your team, do send me the pitch details in below prescribed manner.

example:

BOUNCE : 7
SPIN : 6

The above pitch will be good for batting with moderate bounce and moderate spin, though not a batting paradise, it is a sporting pitch

If you fail to send the pitch values or not interested to mess with it, I'll leave it as it is. You know in RL that, Feroz Shah Kotla(DDD Ground) has the moderate bounce with high turn, Eden Gardens (KKR Ground) has low bounce and high turn and Rajiv Gandhi stadium (DC ground) has high bounce and low turn making it a great batting pitch!

One of my friend suggested me to involve non-participating people in the excitement of eIPL. I didn't find any idea apart from BETTING. I won't participate or hold it, as it may clash with my duties of this tournament. If someone is willing to hold the official betting program, they can go ahead and I've no objection! If you have a better idea, do speak out!

PS: IN NEED OF A GRAPHIC DESIGNER WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE SOME LOGOS OR SUCH STUFF AND CONTRIBUTORS TO THE BLOG TO RAISE THE EXCITEMENT LEVELS.

Though the prize pool is heavy, endorsements and sponsors are always welcome! 😛 Can I find someone who can contribute small rewards for MoM of 93 matches that are to be held? 😛
