*EDITORIAL* A Friendly Letter from the Editor

Day 2,002, 12:43 Published in USA USA by Dauntless2000

Hello everyone,

I had an amazing response to my first War Room article that I was very surprised with the not just the warm reception, but to be the top article for War Analyzing! I was blown away and it made me think about what I want to do with the paper. So let me start though with a promise I what to make to my readers.

I believe a writer is as good as the articles he/she creates, good writers will show their skill and will rise to the top and the bad ones will slowly sink to the bottom or resort to gifts and bribes. I will make this promise to all of the subscribers and readers of SFL, I will not be paying for votes or subs. I believe every vote and sub as a sign of confidence in my abilities that you want others to see my work and are also willing to listen to my voice when I speak up. The only ones I understand with buying votes is the government so people can see the articles they write, but a regular newspaper writer should be able to be seen by their ability or their ideas. If I ever go back on my word, I will make an article with the headline I SOLD MY SOUL to show that I have not only went against the faith of my readership, but also on my core belief and my word as a writer.

Next on my list is a thank you to my Unit Commander, Haselrig, for fact checking my War Room article, he made sure I was not going to put my foot in my mouth. Also he talked me into doing a weekly War Room briefing. I will say that I like the idea, but I’m so new I will be placing some rules on what I’m going to talk about in the briefings.

1. I’m only going to talk about the men and women who fight for the Stars and Stripes. I don’t know the full extent of the world's military forces and I can’t see myself trying to dig through tons of stuff on the military of Finland. I will be talking about what the US has been involved in, and that is it.

2. I will be focusing on major events. I won’t talk about any Gods or about small events that happen all the time. I want to focus on major events that shake the world or the fighting forces of the USA. I’m a nice writer, but I don’t have the time to write about every fight and I also believe you don’t want to and don’t have the patience for it as well. If nothing happened that was major, I will post in my friend’s shout area that “due to no major events, there will be no briefing this week” I believe it is better to give no Briefing than to talk about things that you will not give a hill of beans about.

3. I’m going to start something called the War Correspondence Callout to help me find information for the Briefings. If you wish to point me in the direction of something that I talk about in the briefing, I will give you a shout out in the Weekly War Room Briefing as either a War Correspondence or as a Report from the Frontlines. Correspondence will be for someone who tells me about something and has an article about it. I will link the article in the piece as well. The latter does not have a paper or not going to talk about it but gave me some very helpful information that I used for the Briefing. I believe in thanking people who help me, so this is my way of doing it. I will place you at the end of the article Just look for this picture.

Last but not least, I’m still going to work on my media reviews. I see them as a labor of love and will not abandon them because of the success of The War Room. Every soldier needs a little R & R and I see my reviews in that way. If you are not interested in them look between the *’s. If you see Shore Leave, it is my media review and you can miss it if you don’t want to read them and watch for The War Room instead for my weekly briefing.

I want to say thank you to all of my subscribers, those who were with me from the start to those of you who have just joined in, I believed that it was important to inform you of my plans on where I’m taking SFL and hope you will all stay with me on this journey.

Until Then,
Dauntless2000
