[EDEN] Rising from the summer slumber

It has been a while since our last article, mainly due to the fantabulous invention of summer vacation. We apologise to the thousands of subscribers for the absence and promise that new articles will be released on a more regular basis from now on. In our first article since the launch of eRepublik Rising, we will deal with the regular EDEN Supreme Commander election and formation of the new EDEN HQ.

Our heartfelt thanks to avec
In early July, EDEN Supreme Commander avec decided that he would not run again for the position. Serving from 19th February 2010 to 18th July 2010, avec lead EDEN to many huge successes, such as this spring's Operation World in Flames and liberating a good number of high-resource regions occupied by Phoenix. He also developed EDEN's funding system further and made the EDEN Media Team get its current form. Seeing the period as a whole in perspective, there has of course been both ups and downs. But as we wave goodbye and wish him a comfortable and pleasant eLife, we can honestly say that we are proud of him and what he has achieved.

New Supreme Commander
The President Council of the member countries held a summit on Sunday 18th of July where the new EDEN Supreme Commander was elected. It was not a huge surprise that the brilliant man who served as Assistant Supreme Commander under avec was chosen as his successor. We are of course talking about our Croatian genius, Ledinho. Unfortunately things didn't go as expected, as after just three days, Ledinho had to inform that he couldn't continue. As a result of these unfortunate news, EDEN leaders held a new meeting on day 976 where the Country Presidents unanimously chose Romanian strategist and EDEN's Military Organiser alpho as holder of the highest possible rank in the Brotherhood.

Some initial words from our new leader
While we will have to get back to you later with a more extensive interview, we managed to get some thoughts from the new Supreme Commander as we were congratulating him with his elevated rank in EDEN.
- Thank you. This is not all new to me as up to now I have been the assistant Military Commander of EDEN (Military Organiser in the EDEN Treaty), two times Romanian MoD and also served one term as the president of eRomania. But I can say that it's going to be a very challenging period in my eLife and I expect a good number of issues ahead that will need to be straightened out for the Brotherhood of EDEN. Fights will be lost, battles will be won and wars will continue to rage on and give us nightmares as well as exalting dreams. The short term goals are to regain total control over Croatia, Scandinavia and the PTOed countries, simple as that. Now what's less important but more significant is the way or means through which this shall be done. Good news will follow.

Media Team changes
The EDEN Media Team experienced a change when their Main Battle Analyst srdant decided to resign for the rest of the summer due to being really busy with RL matters. We are expecting his return in autumn, but nothing is decided yet. We want to thank him for his contributions to the Brotherhood this far.
