Greetings friends,

Today we have a special guest, Ariakis of Poland. Why is it special? Because even before this article was made, Poland left EDEN. However Ariakis has a long history with EDEN and so is the Polish Community. The purpose of this interview is to see if there`s anything left to be done, anything left to save in regard with the EDEN-Poland relation. Once, the EDEN crown jewel, Poland turned into what they used to mock a while back, a
country which renegade its friends and embraced the former enemy.

So, Ariakis, why did that happen?
Pure boredom? From my point of view EDEN had and probably will still have some weak spots and flaws - this may happen when governments are changed each month, people who come in are either not prepared, not contributing enough or simply asleep which is rather irritating for those who are active, or they lack candidates to HQ. On the other hand here in Poland we’ve managed, at least most of the times to elect active presidents who chosen active representatives - so basically we always contributed. And of course our contribution was widely ‘advertised’. What was not told about so often was the fact that we also achieved a lot thanks to EDEN. Like Germany campaign in 2009, our trip to USA and then to Asia. We’ve managed to do that not only thanks to ourselves but thanks to our efforts AND our allies.
But like I said it wasn’t told out loud enough how much we were obtaining, so people felt for some propaganda that EDEN is dead, sucks, is puppet of Romania, which actually didn’t get as much as we or Spain for example. People felt that EDEN lost its formula, attractiveness and that Poland with its imperial status is being used. And they got bored cause of countless battles in Hungary, Serbia or Turkey - which actually are main source of real war since Poland has full set of resources and weak enemies nearby, so it can’t really have an own, decent fun.

I see. Now please tell us a bit about yourself. Who is Ariakis in RL?
Real name Peter, age 27. At the moment I work on some projects for small business, and during breaks I’m trying to have some fun while working for more or less serious companies. Apart of work I’m rather normal, yet a bit antisocial individual with higher interest in calm entertainment rather than wild partying. 😉

And now, who is Ariakis in-game?
Oh my - well, back when I was a simple player I was rather a wanderer - I took part in a TO in Croatia in Summer 2009, then I joined POW - Polska Organizacja Wojskowa; in the meantime World War III started and we’ve landed in USA. In POW I’ve somehow managed to climb up to commander status. During that time our group became a part of Polish National Army (we left before V2), we also joined PMTF and GROM in Peru. In January I was elected as president of this South American country, in March I became Polish MoFA and managed to stay on our govt channel for like 9 months - during those months I was Government Spokesman, three times president of Poland, MoD for few days, MoFA and vice-president twice. Atm I’m a Congressman and it seems that I’ve become more politician than a soldier I was before. Also I was aSC under Gabriel Lavanche and then Supreme Commander of EDEN, currently I’m one of HQ advisors.



Good, now that we know each other better please tell me why we can consider you a friend of EDEN. What is that which motivates you?
I don’t think that ‘friend’ is appropriate word. 😛 I have a tendency to dislike things that make me waste a lot of resources - especially time and energy and EDEN took a lot of it. But well - it was also enjoyable at some point so I don’t hate/dislike it but also don’t love/like. I guess same would go for Poland - both in a country and in alliance you try to do your best, isn’t it? And it really annoys you when you have to deal with people who can’t follow or don’t do that cause of their own, particular reasons. In EDEN the hardest thing was to make all countries cooperate and make them happy. Basically achieve some larger goal of alliance and small goals of countries in the right order. And I think that we - as HQ and countries managed to do that.
But after the age of success it often comes an age of loses - and whining, accusations, sticking to own interests, colonies, goals, forgetting about the idea of common goal. And it applies to almost everyone who achieved something before and now loses it. That happened - well, also unlimited rank works bug helped in the process of falling apart plus some decisions that weren’t discussed in front of Country Council.
Back then I would rather allow EDEN to fall apart or to get disbanded - seriously it’s better to close something and wave goodbye in peace rather than stay in a structure that makes you (your country) feel uncomfortable. But due to some reasons - both personal and non-personal I decided to support not exactly Bogdan_L but EDEN itself - especially that some countries couldn’t decide if they want in or out and other people decided to strengthen internal problems which would lead to destroying alliance. Also I guess the fact that I stood against ex-friends helped a bit and pushed me kinda back on the right track. I didn’t support Bogdan’s decisions to go public with internal issues, I tried to persuade him to not engage in conflict with people that trolled him or did not cooperate, but well I kinda failed.
And personally I believe that end of EDEN should be decided by all the member countries, not by small groups of people who plot and try to put the blame on others. Especially now when EDEN is at the new beginning, with a chance to evolve into something which will work better - of course after countries/people who have something against other members or alliance itself will leave.
So the thing that motivates me is not some feeling of being righteous last-man-standing, but rather normal resistance against some people, their methods, which cause turmoil in EDEN and destroy good name of my own country. Also I think that EDEN 2011 stands a chance in the New World - maybe it won’t be like in the past, but it’s about future, not the things we left behind.

I know that many Polish are unhappy with the smrtan regime, many fled abroad and joined EDEN military units. Some even renounced Polish citizenship as a form of protest. What do you suggest they do now? Is there any hope for a pro-EDEN government to follow this one?
I think they can decide by themselves - either they want to support the bonds between Poland and old friends/allies or to go with the flow into the arms of new ‘friends’. As for Poland it is not possible to go back even with pro-EDEN Government - hey, after all that mess it would be just stupid and kinda shameful, especially that another govt could copy actions of smrtan and his pals.
But of course there is a chance that Poland will cooperate with EDEN while not being a member - and by real cooperation I mean with whole alliance, all the members, not only those that current govt or NWO supporters consider friends or want to follow them asap into bright NWO era. To be honest I doubt that anyone has a plan with some long-term goals, so basically Poland may end up pretty much alone or in the middle given the fact that each burnt bridge forces Poland into the arms of ex-opponents. Or with some reasonable government it may try to stay close to EDEN like USA did and create some own politics - but given the fact that major ex-Phoenix powers still fight against EDEN members it’s rather impossible to eat cookie and have cookie all the time. One way or another people who left may one day be forced to fight against own country or they may come back in order to save it or cause situation changed.

In your opinion, what is the REAL reason for which the smrtan & co. decided to refuse MPP with Romania and to do one with Hungary instead? The "you came and TOed Czech Rep. or Belarus, you stole our candy" are too childish. I can give just as well as example the Polish who came to "help” the Bolivian pro-EDEN regime and who instead stole all our national companies and right now Bolivia is lost to the Argentineans. Or that EDEN SC told the Polish representatives that they are trolls and somehow that gave birth to a national drama!?
Basically if we`re at pointing fingers, we can find plenty of mistakes on both sides. So naturally I start to think, did Poland had another reason? Did the smrtan regime had a hidden plan?
Boredom - like fighting over the same regions in never-ending wars. “Hate” towards Romania (note that many people can’t really distinguish between Romanian and Rome or more popular Gypsy), EDEN (‘EDEN didn’t treat Slovakia as it should’), certain individuals (like bringing back andyr and his coup-de-etat or Morphine actions in Czech). Also something that could be described as butt-hurt from the past. I guess we’ll never know as I doubt that people responsible for that will tell the true reasons. They’ll rather keep telling some propaganda about betrayal, evil Romanian puppeteers, evil HQ that don’t treat them or their country as it should be treated, dead EDEN, TOs, peace proposals, EDEN losing the Brotherhood spirit, EDEN being something else that it was in the beginning and rest of excuses.
I mean yes - EDEN sucks sometimes, sometimes even hard - but same applies for any alliance or any country in this world - after all people play here and people make mistakes. It might be funny for some to tell ‘why so serious, it’s just a game’ but on the other hand Polish termination of membership could be done earlier, without the massive trolling - it would be calmer, it wouldn’t burn so many bridges - but it would also need a real, solid reasons for population. And it’s easier to manipulate and show people enemy that is guilty. Also it’s probably funnier for them - since hey ‘4teh lulz and glory of trolling’ is the motto and they can take revenge on some countries for something that was done half year or year ago. And I would call it smrtan’s regime - it’s not only him and I personally doubt he’s the real boss there, when it comes to NWO.

Another reason brought as reason for leaving by the Polish was issues inside the EDEN HQ. Care to detail what the problems were and if they have any weight?
No idea. Really - I’ve asked like three times in comments to our official newspaper what exactly HQ did and till now I didn’t get the answer. As for me it’s another excuse which can be turned against EDEN: ‘Hey, this evil HQ is telling us The Big no 1 Polish Empire what to do’, ‘Hey they don’t treat us like they should - as the No1 mastah country’, ‘Hey they don’t allow us to sign MPP with “neutral” Hungary’ and so on. And it works. Some people in Poland have this high and mighty attitude that Poland itself and alone is the best and everyone should respect us, kneel before us no matter how stupid we act.
Besides - if there is something wrong in HQ then why countries that accuse HQ did not propose their candidates?

Hungary. I understand there`s a RL close friendship between Poland and them. I remember that about a year ago (with the famous baby-boom) when the Hungarian propaganda begun another "love thy neighbour" campaign, it was answered with hostility by most of the Polish. What changed?
‘Polak, Węgier...’ has higher impact than Steve Jobs and his success of selling a bigger version of IPhone as a tablet. Especially that last time Poland only helped in deletion of Hungary, without attacking them directly. In the past we were more involved - like in RA, HK, LK and all major battles against Hungary and Serbia - since those countries cooperated closely. Now the epic battles are gone and all-vs-all is less interesting, not to mention that it’s harder to involve oneself and to have the feeling of fighting against particular nation.
Besides year ago they came with friendship and a knife behind their back (Q5 companies killing our babies along with French and Germans) and most of people know that they are coming because we were getting stronger. And now we are bored, there’s a lot of propaganda, quite few groups started cooperating - which actually started like month or two ago (Belarus, CH RW, Horthy Renegades in Poland). Now it’s simple - someone shouted loud enough to convince people that Hungarians are our beloved friends - and since they don’t act against us it’s easier to start trusting them.

About USA now. I also remember that in the same period of time Poland begun an aggressive anti-American campaign threatening with war and so on. Basically they pretty much did what they doing to Romania now. Question is why does that happen in general in the Polish society? And in particular, how was the USA-Polish conflict solved?
my personal theory is that’s because people are idiots. Especially when they come as a crowd. People tend to not think by themselves - they rather take the served idea, sentence, course of action without wasting time to dig and check the facts. It’s the same in real life - if I read right wing newspapers only I most likely become a fine, conservative, stubborn nationalist. If I read left wing newspapers I most likely become a naive socialist, hating clergy, and a fan of North Korea. And if I try to read everything from right, through center to left then I’ll waste lot of time and bring up some own ideas which will make both right wing and left wing people shoot me.
It’s of course a bit exaggerated but main reason is because people tend to follow the crowd and to fall for propaganda. It doesn’t matter who’s propaganda. What’s important is that people feel that it’s truth and people saying otherwise are enemies, liars, ‘put some random insult concerning views here’ and evil propagandists.
How was it solved? By diplomacy, pragmatism, common interests and I suppose better communication between people who were solving it. The fact that during my term in Poland and Bradley Reala’s in USA we’ve managed to wipe out Russia from America probably worked for population, which still remembered April and Poland’s National Goals.

What`s NWO?
Seriously I don’t know. It’s some blurry idea created by bored people who claim that they are bored with 2,5 year old conflicts based on RL and that they want to create something new, that they want change, they want to be friends with our RL friends, they don’t want to fight countless battles for NGP or Marmara or Aegean Islands or Maramures or Slavonia, yet they yell that Romania must be destroyed. Really I doubt that anyone knows what NWO is and what are the main goals besides “changes, killing boredom, deleting Romania, being friends with Spaniards and Croats or ‘forget about Croats, we can ask Huns for NAP with them’ ”
There are people wanting alliance with Spain and Hungary, some want top 5 countries, some want alliance including Serbia and Croatia, others want to stay closer to EDEN. Really - it’s like looking at a string of numbers, which are supposed to have some order, but in reality some numbers are missing and some are sorted chaotically. So to be honest it should be rather NWD - new world disorder.

Also, where is smrtan`s Poland heading towards?
I guess into Pol-Esp-Hun core, with cooperation with some EDEN members hoping that they will eventually follow (like Croatia, maybe Sweden). But as well it may be going straight into deletion or into the same basket that ex-Phoenix countries are. I’m not a soothsayer, but I guess that future is so unclear and plans are being detailed and prepared NOT that even this funny octopus from World Cup would have a problem with choosing right answer.

Another issue, many Poles complained about, is that the poll which the government made was a fraud as most of the Polish soldiers do not possess Polish citizenship. I have examples in ZDRUG of Poles who couldn’t vote. How many such cases are there. From what I know there were 300 (do correct me if I`m wrong here) voters while the Polish population numbers 15000.
Around 571 people voted - as far as I remember out of around over 2000 people that fight. Maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more. I’ve also heard some complaints, but I don’t think that those votes that weren’t counted would change something drastically. Maybe it would be 65 or 70 or 75% for leaving not 77%, but anyway majority would vote YES.
But I guess it could look differently without anti-EDEN and anti-Romanian propaganda coming from both private and government papers. With proper information, stating pure facts people would probably be more careful. Or maybe counter-propaganda would change their minds. 😛
Also probably more would be informed and would vote if referendum was announced properly and voting would take more than 24h. Anyway I’m pretty sure some/few voted YES not because they are so enthusiastic about NWO, but simply because they wanted this farce to end and they would do it again.

And now, for the end, is there any hope for remediating the EDEN - Polish relation? And if yes, how can that be done?
Changing people who are responsible for diplomacy in Poland would help, since till today their cooperation skill was close to 0. Or electing a HQ that would be a puppet to those who are currently pulling strings in Poland.
Well, being more serious: cooperation is possible if both sides will show will to talk, negotiate, will know what Poland expects from EDEN and vice-versa. However I think the wisest thing at the moment is letting Poland find its own path - without showing hostility or trolling whole population. And unless Poland takes open, hostile steps towards member nation, neutrality and maintaining bilateral relations between Poland-member states is the best.
