[EDEN HQ] What is an EDEN?

What is an "EDEN"?
No, it is not a typo or grammatical error. Really now, isnt it time now to consider what is an Erepublik Defense & Economy Network?
So, lets examine it closely.

What is &quot😉efense"?

NOUN:
1. The act of defending against attack, danger, or injury.
2. A means or method of defending or protecting.
3. Sports The act or an instance of defending a championship against a challenger: will box in his third defense of his title.
4. An argument in support or justification of something. Synonyms with apology.
5. Law
5.a. The action of the defendant in opposition to complaints against him or her.
5.b. The defendant and his or her legal counsel.
6. The science or art of defending oneself; self-defense.
7. Sports
7.a. Means or tactics used in trying to stop the opposition from scoring.
7.b. The team or those players on the team attempting to stop the opposition from scoring.
8. The military, governmental, and industrial complex, especially as it authorizes and manages weaponry production.

It is obvious that we are only interested in definitions 1, 2 and 6. In eRepublik, a defensive action is taken when an e-nation is under attack, or under the danger of an upcoming attack, or when there is a danger against its own existence. Attacks in eRepublik are not just the usual ones, when an e-nation attacks another but also when a group of people is trying to PTO a whole country, thus jeopardizing its whole present and future. Additionaly, defense is any kind of pre-emptive actions against an aggressor that will eventually attack you at some point.
Now that we have determined the term Defense, we can proceed with the next term.

And maybe, why is the word "Network" more suitable than the word "Alliance"?
Network is a loose version of an alliance, it is a "gentlemen's agreement" rather than a signed pact, it is a co-operative mechanism rather than a full force attacking machine. In general, a network is a system of working stations connected and operated by a central mainframe, each one being partially autonomous but also a fundamental part of the system. A network works with full efficiency when all its stations work together and operate as one. What is an Erepublik Defense & Economy Network?
It should be crystal clear by now that EDEN is NOT an offensive alliance with the sense that we knew so far. This doesnt mean that EDEN is not or will not be in the offense if this is needed. And unfortunately it is needed. EDEN is here not only to help its members defend their homelands. EDEN is here to help any country that is under the imminent danger of being overrun by aggressors, EDEN is here to help any country against a PTO attempt. EDEN is here and not Sweden, or Croatia, or Greece, or USA alone.
EDEN is, or ideally should be, working as one group but to be able to achieve this there are certain conditions to be met. In EDEN there is no second class members. There is no super power but only the power of the dedicated members of our network. The combined forces of the 13 countries that form this network is the super power of EDEN, but as every system, this also has its failures and we need to admit this.

It is true that not all members view things from the same angle. The interests of USA do not always go hand in hand with the interests of Bosnia for example, but what is on the table right now is this exact question:
EDEN has 13 members, each one has its own interests. What weights more? EDEN interests as a whole or individual interests of each country? Of course, the Greek goal is to wipe out Turkey, but is this in conflict with the interests of EDEN, or could it be integrated in the future plans of the network? Is there a way for the EDEN HQ to manage and combine the (reasonable) individual goals of each country? Are the members of EDEN ready to dedicate time and effort and put their ego aside, so EDEN HQ can effectively carry out their plans?
And finally, acting on their own, the members of EDEN might achieve some things, for some short time. And then what?

We could as well agree today to disolve EDEN if that is the case. But fortunately for a lot of people and unfortuantely for others, EDEN is here to stay. protect and defend. Defend the rights of countries to live and prosper free of oppresors, free of so called "mesiahs", free of the constant fear of being sieged and endangered.
EDEN is as strong as ever and will remain so, and proof of this is the recent victories both in the battlefields of Europe and Asia, but also the anti-PTO initiatives in several countries just 2 days ago.
