[EDEN] An update on the internal structure of EDEN

Taking into consideration that our close friends in China are on the verge of deciding wether to join EDEN, we thought that we should give an updated explanation of the structure, hierarchy, and functionality of the Brotherhood of EDEN. We thought that bringing in front of your eyes the way our great alliance works, would shed some light on a lot of question all of you might have. So let’s not keep your eyes reading more of the same nonsense, and let’s get down to business, shall we?

The Alliance leadership: EDEN HQ

The EDEN HQ has a hierarchical structure which is composed of the following officers:

The role of the Supreme Commander (SC) is to lead the alliance and organize every aspect of its daily routine. The Military Commander (MC) and Military Organizer (MO) are responsible for planning and coordinating military operations.

The Economic Organizer (EO) is tasked with running the alliance finances, which is always a difficult task as it’s awfully hard to collect gold.

The Intelligence and Security Director (ISD) is tasked with organizing a network of agents who are furthermore tasked with collecting intelligence from the opposing alliance, Phoenix. The information gathered this way can sometimes decide the winners of the most important battles. Diplomatic endeavours go through EDEN HQ and each country is urged to follow a common foreign policy towards enemy nations.

The task of the Public Relations Organizer (PRO) is to keep communication between EDEN and the common active folk, mainly through writing informative articles but also by collecting feedback. The Public Relations Department has grown into a team comprised of the PRO and four assistants, all of them lame journalists.

The HQ does its job mostly by using active communication on secret EDEN IRC channels, which obviously we will not disclose today. Those channels are used to communicate every sensitive piece of information, operation playbooks, proposals and other matters of this sort with the member states’ highest ranking officials (those are usually the CPs, MoFAs and MoDs.).

The HQ consults all of the member states before executing any major operation and a unanimous vote is required for such actions to take place. These are discussed at meetings held between the HQ and the CPs or their representatives. After the voting process is done, the SC, ASC, MC, MO and the council of MoDs plan the operations and execute them.

EDEN HQ is elected from nominees proposed by member country representatives. Position of SC is under review every two months, and HQ elections are held if a position is open or the person holding the office resigns.



Public Relations: The mouthpiece of EDEN HQ

And if we were just talking about PR, let’s shed some light on the way they work. Well, the very concept of Public Relations implies a hell of a lot of writing. This means, that whenever something big happens in the New World, our people have to collect intelligence, comprise an analysis on the respective event which is then passed to the senior ranking officials. After we have gathered as much intel as we could, we get down to actually writing the articles you guys read.

The Public Relations Office consists of various departments; those departments have a Chief Analyst and a few other assistants; and those analysts and assistants have a number of New World contacts from which they procure valid information on a given matter. So without further ado, may we present the structure and hierarchy of the Public Relations Office:

Military campaigns: How, where, what and why?

Planning major military campaigns is a complicated process involving many people mainly from the EDEN HQ and each country representative; usually the Presidents, MoD's and MoFA's. The main responsibility for planning and discussing falls to the EDEN HQ. Mostly the SC and the MC, but countries' representatives are free to demonstrate their strategies and contribute in planning our campaigns. Military campaigns are planned and discussed in cooperation with every country’s administration so that everyone has a chance to participate in the process, and of course give their input. EDEN has a dedicated channel for drafting, discussing and voting these plans in order to make things as organized as possible.

Daily military operations are handled by HQ, setting orders and priorities in a channel dedicated for member country representatives. The MoDs' and Presidents' duty is to make sure that they keep their armies orders up to date with EDEN HQ orders and priorities. There is constant feedback between countries' leadership and the HQ because all orders are communicated via secure channels to each member country.

When it comes to military groups, everyone has definitely heard of EMC, EDEN's multinational task force which consists of a large number of high-strength Field Marshals coming from all EDEN countries. EMC was introduced during World War 3 and it quickly established a reputation as an efficient military unit, which waited until the very last minute and then made the difference in pretty much every important battle there was.

EMC is divided into squads arranged by nationality. Each country has its own squad and every squad has their own dedicated squad leader. Every country is tasked to provide a number of soldiers to the EMC with supplies and a chain of logistics of their own. Upwards in the command the chain consists of EDEN HQ's Supreme Commander and Military Commander who have the prime responsibility on assigning orders.

EMC operates independently of national army orders and as such, it is a perfect instrument to secure EDEN's interests across the globe. Their proud motto is Victoria aut Mors! which in Latin stands for Victory or Death! This phrase suits EMC well since their operations usually have really high stakes.



Economy cooperation: Funding and financing the alliance operations

As stated in the treaty, each member country is obliged to participate in financing the daily military operations of the alliance. Member countries are required to contribute gold to the EDEN centralized treasury, nicknamed TAF. The treasury has caused stir in alliance ranks and in media at times, but it has been agreed to be a vital and needed part for an alliance to remain functional day by day.

After debates and intensive research, nowadays the amount each country is asked to contribute to EDEN is discussed between EDEN EOs and each member country Ministry of Finance - so each country contributes only the amount they can, no more, no less. For larger operations though all members are asked to provide resources above the stated quotas while in limits of everyone's ability to contribute.

While still not fully functional, EDEN has began to increase economic cooperation in alliance-level by instating a Council of MoFs (Ministers of Finance), which will be tasked to provide numbers on each country economic figures (tax income, state companies, Monetary Market transaction, ...) and total income and spending, so membership fees can be evaluated more effectively and EDEN has a better image of each country economic situation. It is also expected countries themselves benefit from their economic masterminds talking to each other, and discussing what schemes they are using to improve their economies.

This is what can be told publicly in media about EDEN and its procedures. Full image of what happens behind the scenes (and what doesn't) can only be seen by being involved in the alliance leadership. Most of the protocols and regulations of The Brotherhood of EDEN can be found in the Treaty of the Brotherhood of EDEN.
