[EDEN] A Citizen of EDEN

Day 1,078, 13:31 Published in Sweden Greece by Greek Ministry of Health

Citizens of Sweden!
It is an honor for me to see you, my countrymen, fighting for Spain and the rest our allies, as you probably know the battle in Castilla y Leon is of less importance to the Swedish nation but it is important to our allies. And just like they always have done for us, we came and helped them on the battlefield.

What do we get from our allies and our membership of EDEN?
I can imagine that many of you would ask you that question. For the average person, our membership could seem to be unnecessary and costly. But did we really have all the information when thinking of that?

Through our partnership Sweden receives support on many fronts politically, militarily and financially from the other countries.

1. Politically
Today our enemies would just need around 100 players to make a Political Takeover of Sweden. They could take over our Congress and gain control over the president post. EDEN is a great device that keeps track of our elections and makes sure they are safe. If they aren’t, EDEN will of course help with votes and also with organization against the takeovers.

2. Militarily
eSweden is a small country, with regions that are not exactly the most valuable of all eRepublik, but very often we are exposed to attacks anyway. We have the opportunity to call for help from all member countries and make use out of EMC (EDEN's elite group of powerful soldiers) if we need it. Yep, we are able, on most occasions, we can manage ourselves, we are actually quite strong although we are not so many any longer. In addition to this we get the opportunity through EDEN to participate in MPP battles (i.e. conflicts in which we can participate through our alliances), where we can fight from home. It does wonders with our population rank and also increases players' experience points a lot. But the key is actually the battle experience you get, you learn how to fight and a nation in which every citizen knows how to fight will be hard to beat for any enemy.

3. Financially
This is a pretty simple point: if there is any country that are experiencing a financial hardship, such as Ireland that has got rid of lots of companies and gold as hackers are stealing state property, they have the opportunity to borrow money from other countries to build their economy again.

eRepublik is primarily a war game, something you probably have noticed so far. Even though the economy and political part is necessary, these modules are not yet as developed as the war module that we have in the current situation. This seems to us within EDEN as something extremely sad, while of course the majority of our members think that war is incredibly fun. But we can get to much of the fun, so every day we try to come up with new things, new stuff that we can do to make so that each player thinks eRepublik is as much fun as possible. We have competitions, Media Mogul projects and else through our alliance and the goal is to try to bring people together.

From the beginning EDEN didn’t have any rules, there was no "Treaty" of how things should be taken care of or how countries would react to the other. EDEN was a brotherhood; the rules were not necessary because the countries had been friends for a long time and help each other if needed.
But after the invasion of North America (when our arch-enemies manage to conquer all of Canada and all U.S. regions except one) which EDEN finally managed to turn into a victory, more and more countries wanted to have a place in the Brotherhood. A Treaty was extremely necessary when the rules were needed, and it was created and a bit of "Brotherhood" feeling was lost.

Today, the following nations are members of EDEN: Australia • Bosnia and Herzegovina • Canada • China • Croatia • Finland • Greece • Italy • Norway • Poland • Romania • Spain • Sweden • Switzerland.

Today EDEN’s primary mission is no longer to conquer as many regions as possible (even if it also goes really well!) But to get our members, every citizen of our countries that are members, to have as much fun as possible. eRepublik is a game, one thing we often forget in our discussions, we are doing this because it's really fun. We meet new people whose existence we would not otherwise have even known about, we meet the new cultures of our allies and get to know them and their way and how the act. We fight together, we work together and create business together and we talk about politics together.

Together nothing is impossible, together we can accomplish and create miracles, and at the same time having fun with our friends!

Never forget, this is a game and we play it because it's fun!

Yours Sincerely
Lonestar
