Join the new world

Dear Citizens of eBelgium,

First of all I’d like to introduce myself and my team for this month:
MoHA : Icurlybear
SoFUN : MCKitkat
SoE : Princess Rapunzel BE who will be assisted by Elynea

From here on I’ll discuss MoHA matters, but as some of you might have already seen SoFUN has already published and started the insane fun he’s fond of. SoE has also published a few articles aimed at the new players.

During this month we’ll set up two new programs aimed at an increase of eBelgian activity. While these will be my primary concern, other programs might be set in motion if they are judged useful and adapted to the current situation.

The first program we want to get running is the IRC Activity boost program. IRC is without doubt one of the main communication tool used by every country to gather its citizens and have interactive discussion amongst them.

eBelgium’s main channel (#eBrussels), currently hosts around 20 persons everyday and allows them to communicate quickly and easily about any matter or question they might have about the game. You’ll also almost always find a government member online in case of an emergency or a question only them can answer.

Our goal is to make the use of this tool more common and to encourage people to come online and participate to the wonderful community that eBelgium has.

To do this we plan on encouraging players to join the national IRC channel with the following rewards :
Connecting, saying hi : 5Q7 (daily)
Registering your nick : 10Q7
Participating in any discussion going on for the first time : 20Q7

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to use IRC, a quick tutorial will follow up in the next few days. If you have any question to not hesitate to send a PM, we are here to help and answer your questions.

Now for this program, we are trying to get people to not only get on the forum and read what is going on, but also to participate and discover this unique aspect of eBelgium. It’s a place where constructive debate can be hold and where people can meet and talk to player they might not have encountered otherwise during their time playing eRepublik.

I won’t get into the debate about whether we congress talks and votes should be held there or not. This is purely to get people to know about the forum and use it.

With that objective in mind we’ll release once in a while an article containing links to various forum thread that are either interesting or active at the time. We want our players to pitch in and participate in any discussion they wish to. Everybody on the forum is more than willing to help you in case you need help with anything or wish to discuss anything. There are no wrong/bad posts, only somebody’s addition to our community.

To motivate our citizens, we’ll reward 10Q7 for a post in a thread that was suggested in an article. Before you start spamming to get them, remember that any forum has rules and that spamming it will be considered as breaking those rules and won’t reward you any weapons.
