[eBE MoD] War is coming (again)

Greetings Citizens,
This week been a hectic week, eBelgium was proposed as Netherlands natural enemy not once but twice in only a few days. Luckily with the help of our allies the eUK we where able to stop eNetherlands from actually being able to attack us. Today there is a new threat, Republic of Moldova has proposed an airstrike on eBelgium. When this proposal passed through eMoldova's congress just like with a Natural Enemy proposal they will have 24 hours to start a battle, if the president of eMoldova does not start this battle one of our regions or a battle will automatically start in one of the attackable regions.
The Republic of Moldova came prepared, they've been planning this and they've been signing 6 MPP's the last 3 days with Slovenia, Portugal, Hungary, Argentina, Greece and Serbia. eBelgium currently only has a MPP with spain but to help defend us against eMoldova and their MPP stack we proposed MPP with Turkey and Poland and are also looking into signing more Sirius or pro Siruius MPP to help us in our upcoming battle against Moldova.
The Airstrike on us by Moldova is ofcourse not just a random act but something planned by their big brother Romania and other Asteria (and subsidiary alliances) to attack Poland and to block Poland's path to France. We will defend our own country, we will help defend Poland and all other country that are part of Sirius or aligned to Sirius. We hope we can get the support of our alliance and other neutral countries in our battle

And to give you a real answer : yes, it does matter a lot (for some).
When I read the beginning of the article, I was really pumped up to give all I've got in the war for my country.
Then, at the end of the article, when I realized it was because of our new alliance (the one that I'm pissed against because I feel the government didn't let the choice to their citizens), I'm much more hesitating in fighting.
So yes, it matters a lot to some people.
Actually, being pro Sirius or not really wouldn't matter, one the AS would have most likely happened no matter what, Belgium has a strategic location for Poland to France, secondly RoM gets resources and Third it makes Polish life harder. I'm actually shocked, whether or not being proSirius matters, this is Belgium we are still eBelgian, a country will attack us and you might just sit by?
They don't get resources if the territory isn't linked to their capital btw 🙂

That's exactly the point I've been criticizing for months : critical and long-term decisions (wipe and alliance) should not be taken by the government by itself, without a real debate with the population.
By the way, here's a story :
When we got into CoT, I was totally against and I defended at 100% the "keep neutrality" position.
But when it was done, I realized that it was decided with the consent of the majority of the belgian population, with a real debate, so I accepted it and I tried to fight according to CoT objectives. I repeat : not because I wanted to favor that alliance, but because of the way we got in it. I wanted to be faithful with the citizens of my country.
I'm certainly not in favor of the PTOers, and I don't have anything against Sirious countries... But the recent governments should understand that the way they take critical and long-term decisions makes them loose credibility for many "neutral" players.
I have to point out that there was a discussion on the forum actually about what alliance to join although there haven't been an official vote till us joining an alliance is finalized.
If people don't bother to come to the forum, respond or get involved it is hardly the fault of the government. Like a lot of things in eBE people criticize but don't make an effort to get involved themselves. It is easy to stand on the sideline and point at what is wrong but instead of just pointing and blaming maybe people should also make an effort themselve.

Since there is no more Congress on the forum, and only 5, maybe 10 people who posts there... why gov start so-called debates of importance there?
"There was a discussion", no there was not, there was a proposition to join a pro Sirius ally, and it was immediately put aside cause you were already negotiating with Sirius founders. We all know what Valeyard's stance was when we joined CoT, (remember the famous "fail CoT " everywhere he passed), until his own country joined the same ally, then it was suddenly OK. the gov never mentioned the possibility, so logic that nobody started to debate, now that we hear about it he claims that it is already debated, I invite everybody to look at that debate, it is a joke. and a dangerous one, proof already is there, shouting "we will be part of Sirius" gives us war, maybe we will get wiped and Valeyard can be happy again (or not?)
Why we start such discussion of importance there? Well for starters that is how it always been done and second of all I am pretty sure it says so in eBE law. If you want that changed you should propose a law change. How would you suggest discussing it ingame? Articles are public and not a good place to do so, PM's are limited and only a limited number of people can get involved. Sorry but just because there is no no congress there is no reason to just say it's no use to discuss things on the congress forums.
Sorry Boer Jan your post is just full of lies, there was a discussion to see what way we would go in foreign affairs. Also I did say fail COT but if you read discussions on the forum etc you'll Actually boer jan I was *ALWAYS* for eBE joining COT I always said that eBE should join COT and I always thought it was a good plan
I am just repeating that if people had known there was a plan to join an ally they probably reacted, I do not talk about debating ingame, but "notifying ingame, before you take a stance".
About lies, you know as well as I do that your "fail CoT" has made the forum boiling with reactions that time, do not tell me that it was just for fun, whatever, it is what people remember that counts, an often they, unlike in RL, only remember the bad things.

I mean if you aren't willing to fight against the PTO'ers then please fight for eBelgium if it's being AS'd by Moldova. Or are you to proud to fight for eBelgium because we decided to be pro Sirius.

DO NOT FIGHT unless it's a rw.
If they've planned it, we can't block it. Just let them crash themselves in our country and RW right after, it's wayyyy easier than blocking them. Moreover I hope government will be able to gather some external helps to do so.
