[eBe CP] A reflection about eBelgium 2
eBelgian Presidency
Dear citizens of eBelgium,
In this article I will speak about "the opposition".
Although in the history of eBe there has always been a part of the parties that were not included in the government (with a few exceptions), the current opposition movement was born in the early 2011, one year after the creation of eBelgium.
On the contrary of the usual opposition in politics that try to debate on arguments, their acts were much more agressive such as PTOing parties (BfB pto attempt was probably the first (or almost) PTO attempt on another party in eBelgium) and very aggressive articles including slander, flaming...
After a couple of months they gained enough strength to try to take the power. The conflict that occured between the opposition and the elites has been known since as the Belgian Civil War. During that time, the climate in eBelgium (due to both part, I am not blaming the opposition only) was execrable and although the activity was still really high, several players left the game disgusted by so much hatred.
At the end of the conflict, the activity had dropped severely and the country had weakened a lot. The opposition group had been completely crushed meanwhile (while the elite group was not in a much better state either) and the months following the conflict were relatively quiet on internal affairs.
In the early 2012 a new opposition group appeared (that quickly got the support of the old opposition). Those were made mainly of foreign citizens which goal was seemingly to control the country to make it a part of their international communist group.
The elite group has decided to flag those people as PTOers as they continued and repetively accepted people from foreign countries without the approval of the government. The main problem was that the government was lead by the elite who had decided to flag everyone (or almost) they wanted to let in as a potential PTOer and therefore they automatically denied any citizenship request made by friends of the opposition. They had therefore no other choice than to "bypass" the rules given by the government.
Despite the governmental attempts, they grew in strength and remained in eBelgium over time (2 years now) showing that they were either really persistent or that they might have other goals than making eBelgium a simple tool for them. The wipe that was organized by the "elites" did not seem to have as much impact on this group than it had on the elites (although their number of votes over the last months has also dropped).
Both communities never really merged as the elite continued to use an external forum while the opposition preffered the in game messages (both methods having its advantage and drawbacks) meaning that with a few exception, there has not been much communication between both groups as they considered each other as "evil and selfish". On top of that, the in game message communication method is limited by essence as you can only discuss with your "friends" and it make impossible to make open debates in such communication.
However the activity of the opposition has dropped as well as the activity of the elites in the recent months and it is therefore likely that even if they got the access to the power it would be unlikely that they would be able to manage the country properly, which would probably lead to new wipes or similar situation. On top of that, although they have a good knowledge of being in the opposition, they have no habit of leading a country (as was really well shown during the Belgian Civil War where their only elected CP got impeached by its own government) and they will also need help to manage the country if ever they got access to the highest seat.
Beside the two groups I already talked about, there is also a third group, that I would define as neutral and that have always been hanging around too, although it has been much more active in the recent year. I will talk about it in my third article.
Best regards,
Jofroi
Country President

Nice, I want too see your thoughts on the "third" group 🙂

he already said that it is "neutral", which is false.
It is indeed not completely true but the third group is made of people with several different opinions and they don't agree with either of the previous two aforementionned groups, which is why I consider as "neutral".

Hahah, touché!
Don't listen to him Jofroi, I liked iot. All articles should be like that !
Well written.
So, still PTOing my buddy? 😃
PTOing the elites? Never stopped. 😉
To me, you look more elite than I am 😛 Top-5 of eBelgium, lots of medals, lots of different citizenships. You've powers, you're elite!
He is indeed Thorin Oakkenshield !
You are my dear, clueless like all the others.
"...it is therefore likely that even if they got the access to the power it would be unlikely that they would be able to manage the country properly".
I am doubting whether running eBelgium is more difficult than running Space Shuttle or is it more complex and profound than Nuclear Sciences.

Different tasks may demand different qualities.
You can be a physicist with a nobel prize and having difficulties in cooking an egg or being terrible at social interactions.
So I'm sure you can be awesome in Nuclear Sciences and be really bad at running eBelgium. No paradox there.

You are right about fulfilling different tasks requires having different qualities. But running and managing eBelgium is not that difficult and doesn't require extraordinaire special qualities like some of you try to present it. It is no Rocket Science. And anyway if this guy here:

was capable of running eBelgium, I don't see why anyone of us wouldn't be capable of doing it successfully as well.
Please, don't start with ad hominem attacks using real life 🙂
No, I don't have intention not do I want to start any "ad hominem attacks" using real life info. I just wanted to say; I wouldn't personally let him to keep care of herd of sheep, if somebody would ask me, but you people voted and let him run eBelgium. So there is no need for any other and further mystification of how one eRepublik country is managed and run.
Strange.
For example, to me, the "real life picture argument" above just prove me that you don't have the skills to run an e-country.
And I don't need to know your real job or what you look alike to make up my mind.
