[DoEE] Revolution and the effects

Day 2,702, 23:46 Published in Australia Australia by Aus Ministry of Finance

Today, you will have noticed that S.Q.U.A.D. launched a revolution. If you haven't noticed, please see an optometrist.

What does this mean, for eAustralia as a country? Let's ignore the motivations and political machinations, for which there will undoubtedly be other articles, and focus on the practical effects.

Firstly, if S.Q.U.A.D. lose there are few practical implications. XenthuS will remain as our dictator and S.Q.U.A.D. will be $200,000 out of pocket. The game mechanics will prohibit a further revolution occuring for another 72 hours. Relationships between XenthuS and our congress and president may be strained, to put it mildly. The national organisations (where most of our nation's money normally resides) remain the exclusive property of XenthuS and usable only at his discretion.

Secondly, if S.Q.U.A.D. win...well, what a change! Our democratic government will return. RustyD will be restored as President, with the remaining congress members able to propose and vote on laws again. And approve citizenship applications. In effect, things go back to how they always have been. National organisations become the nominal property of the President again (i.e. he/she can request org password changesthrough game tickets, just like old style elections). Game mechanics prohibit any further potential dictator from attempting a coup for a 10 day period.

For those worried about their tax monies, once a revolution is started then it is impossible for money to be moved around. Whatever happened to be around at that moment remains.

We hope that this article gives some factual understanding to what has been an eventful day. If you have any questions about functional effects (not motivations, please!) then write them in the comments. We'll do our best to answer them.

The DoEE would like to remind everyone that despite what happens here today we're still a community. We must be here for one another to pick up the pieces and stride forward as one nation.
