[DoE] Examining Executive Branch

Day 2,386, 03:42 by eUS Department of Education

Before we start the article. DoE would like to remind all eUSA citizens younger than a year old to continue to participate in DoE’s Personal Missions! You can find the article for this round at this link or you can access the Personal Missions form at the DoE’s Official Website

RACE4POTUS, is an initiative of DoE done using the new Official Website for the eUS Citizens to keep track of latest articles, news and other things related to the POTUS Election. Visit it often for the latest updates and don't forget to bookmark the Official Website of DoE.

This article is re-post done by an old Secretary of Education EnterAwesome. It has been updated to avoid any bad links and saying. Enjoy!

The Executive branch in real life USA
The power of the Executive Branch is vested in the President of the United States, who also acts as head of state and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by Congress and, to that end, appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the Cabinet. The Vice President is also part of the Executive Branch, ready to assume the Presidency should the need arise.

The Cabinet and independent federal agencies are responsible for the day-to-day enforcement and administration of federal laws. These departments and agencies have missions and responsibilities as widely divergent as those of the Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency, the Social Security Administration and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The President
Our first stop is probably one of the most glorified jobs that one can hold in eRepublik: the President. Let us examine how you can become POTUS and the powers POTUS has.

The president also does a lot of other things outside of game mechanics however. Basically, the president makes the decision of who the eUSA should go to war with, exactly like the real United States. The major difference in declaring war is the ePresident doesn't have to get it approved by congress (game mechanics wise) unless it is a Natural Enemy.A natural enemy is a law voted by congress that allows the country (eUSA) to gain an additional 10% influence towards said country. However, when the president proposes to go to war a vote is taken place on the official usa forum [ USA Forums ] between the congress members.

Other duties include dealing with other foreign leaders, personality disputes in the cabinet, and dealing with in-game and IRC messages.Take note that it is hard to be specific about a President's duties because he or she must be innovative and deal with problems as they arise, focusing on eUSA's relevant, most important issues.

Impeachment
If the citizens of a country are unhappy with the current president an impeachment may happen. This is when congress members propose and vote for the president to be taken out of office early. If the more than 66% of the votes supports the Impeachment of the President Proposal, the President Impeachment will take place.

The Presidential Cabinent

Vice President
The duties of the Vice President changes from administration to administration. A “true VP” has account access and the authority to make direct decisions that affect the eUSA, but sometimes the VP is just an adviser and helps the president make decisions.

Chief of Staff
The Chief of Staff's main goals are to simply make sure that all the other branches of government are doing their job. They make sure goals are set and attained while moderating activity and filling holes in the cabinet where needed. They also moderate the forum area of each cabinet space so operations there are efficient.

Dept. of Defense
This department runs in tandem with the military and works with the State and National Security Council to make sure the Military Units hit where they are needed. They also advise and supervise the branch leadership.

Dept. of Homeland Security
They have some important goals that are stressed which include handling the PTO and better communication. There has been strong resistance against the PTO thus far and the DHS will continue working to control the threat. Slade Cash expresses concern about “providing more formal platforms for communication between other eUS entities that are concerned with security, particularly the CIA.” Lastly, the DHS is working on implementing systems to avoid situations like the PTO to happen in the future for a safer America.

National Security Council
The National Security Council (NSC) plans the eUSA strategy and watches eRep battles to make tactical decisions. They then direct damage where it needs to be (similar to Dept. Of Defense). An important part of this branch gives input to which countries we ally with and with who we sign and renew MPPs with.

* MPP – Mutual Protection Pact ( Making a country an ally )

Dept. Of Media
The Department of Media writes and edits the WHPR and generally communicates with the public about government affairs.

Dept. of Interior
Department of Interior ensures whether new folks get the supplies they need to survive during their first days in eUSA. They conduct ranking up programs such as Bank Up 2 Strength Up which gives gold to folks to use to gold strength train. Department of Interior mostly works with the Education department to ensure that information (their job) and goodies (you job) are getting out to the new players both efficiently and effectively.

Dept. Of Education
The Department of Education aims to help new players and sometimes even old players alike. They strive to do this using a variety of activities which include its mentor program, American University, and writing articles full of information.

Dept. Of Technology
The main focus of the Technology Department has a lot to do with coding various programs. The work is highly varied as literally this department works in tandem with every other department that needs to have programs coded for their specific needs. Mike and his team also specialize in tech support in case one of the programs malfunctions, or just for general questions that the less technologically savvy government officials may not know the answers to

IES
The IES works for congress and reviews and approves foreigners applying for eUS citizenship. Also tracks illegitimate approval of citizenship. A lot of internal control is needed to protect eUSA from PTO.

Ambassadors

Being an Ambassador is an awesome way to get your foot into government. Do you think that you would be a good ambassador?

First of all being an Ambassador requires absolutely no experience so it doesn't matter how old you are, as long as you're active and willing to spend some time learning about your assigned country.

Good job, even if it's a bit strange for State Media to be expected to unbiasedly coverage PotUS candidates.
