[DoD] USAF Survey Results

Day 2,380, 13:12 Published in USA USA by dmjohnston

As part of our continued attempts to finalize the USAF merger, we conducted a survey on a variety of USAF-related questions to obtain updated information from the soldiers of USAF.

We received 86 responses to the survey. The majority were former members of The Special Forces, but the other branches were also well represente😛

We asked what your favorite part of your pre-merger unit was, and received a lot of different answers. A lot of them, however, tied back to the community. We asked how can we improve your USAF experience. You answered overwhelmingly with a desire for a stronger sense of community.

We are committed to making that a reality, both on IRC and on the forum. The Booster strikes a few weeks ago are going to become more common, even without the boosters. Gathering on IRC for both battle coordination and socializing are a big part of what has always made USAF’s branches special.

The forums have been less of a focus for some branches, but we want to make the newly combined forum a place for players, both new and old, to cohabitate and enjoy.

What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;

Another question on the survey was related to the new name for our combined unit. The results were fairly clear, and the name will soon be officially changed accordingly to the United States Armed Forces.

Our top regiment will still be referred to as The Special Forces, but our thought, and something the collective of soldiers seemed to agree with, is that we needed a name that reflected our new status as a combined unit.

Supply requesting methods were covered by a couple of questions on the survey. While some people asked for a bot to request supplies on IRC as was done previously, others expressed barriers that prevented that from being a viable option for them.

In the next couple of weeks, a new bot that is linked to a newly enhanced roster website, the joint masterpiece of USAF’s Technology Chief Darkmantle and Defense Information Systems Agency Director Mike Ontry, will be put into operation, giving our members the option of IRC and website supply requests, with immediate feedback on rejected requests. Up to date orders will also be available on the new website, updated at the same time as the bot orders.

The last major issue we needed to address with the survey was a new uniform. As we tried to think of a way to allow USAF members to maintain their ties to old units while moving forward into the new combined unit.

Development is underway on a tool to build your new avatar with a division-based colored sidebar, the USAF seal, and your choice of prior unit insignia: FT, AF, RS, UM, and SF. We hope this will allow everyone to pay homage to their old homes while unifying in their new one.

We are working diligently to resolve problems that arise and make the United States Armed Forces the best place it can be for all of us and to maintain our title as the eUS’s premier fighting force.

We would like to acknowledge all those who expressed interest in positions within the command structure. These responses have been reviewed and a follow up will be sent in game. Anyone who did not complete the survey and is interested in a position can contact rainy sunday via PM.

The United States Armed Forces is now open to all divisions. New players are required to complete our Flight Training program to familiarize them with the game and combat. After that, they’ll join the rest of the troops in Division 1. All other persons interested in joining the USAF need only join the MU in game and contact nui04 for commune information before they can receive supplies. Be prepared for a regiment move invite after joining.

We’re looking forward to meeting all of you and your families at the USAF Potluck. ^___^
