I guess this is how things happen.
I planned, that at some time, I would run for Country President (CP).
I always knew that I would.
What I didn’t know was when.
That was until today.
I had been playing PM tag with Israel Stevens for a few days.
He would PM me and I would PM back. I would look for him on IRC and would have just missed him.
We found each other today. I didn’t know he knew I existed.
I heard stories about the man.
He was something of a legend in AMP.
He was a former POTUS.
We talked. He asked me questions.
He was prodding me into a run for CP. Or at least that is how I took it.
After talking it over, I came to the decision.
I am running for Country President (CP/POTUS, etc.)
I want to give the People a chance.
I want YOU to be included.
I want to work hard to re-invigorate this game by bringing experience to the People.
I don’t want there to be this class of elitists vs. the newer players. This game won’t survive without the fresh blood. eAmerica won’t survive without the experience of the older players. What I am offering is a middle ground. I want Cabinet Secretaries to be newer players and ask our experienced players to advise us.
Let us be involved.
Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, send the newbs, the disenfranchised and the downtrodden to me.

The whole elitist argument is a bunch of nonsense. If you are active enough and step up you will be given a deputy position to learn the trade, most people have started that way but if you're in gov for only few terms you're also an elitist.
I second that. Real elitists are people that arent even in a cabinet yet still influence policy through backroom meetings. Which most often is a good thing because the elite does know what's best.

None of my business, but when has that ever stopped me before?
Can you explain, in 50 words or less, exactly what the CP does?
Forget the dogma and platitudes, explain the job.
If you can do this you deserve a shot. If not then you should consider learning before you leap into something you're not prepared to deal with. Just an observation, not a criticism.
