[Defense] New camps to bolster our strength and morale!

Day 1,884, 00:44 Published in Philippines Republic of China (Taiwan) by Analia Arnheim
It's been a while since I wrote an article. Volume Up, everyone!

Camp used in military terms came from the old German term campoz, which was derived from the original Latin campus.

For a long time now, the only recognized military building in the ePhilippine world is Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, which is located in Quezon City, Luzon, Philippines. Today, after receiving approval from the President, I announce the creation of new military buildings for ePhilippines.

* Fort Andres Novales:
This is to be the building of the training unit of the government, but since PMA (Philippine Military Academy) is now privatized, this facility is open to any Philippine military unit who wanted to have Fort Andres Novales.

Andres Novales, a Filipino-Mexican born in Manila in 1800, served the Spanish Army at an early age of nine, wherein he was a cadet at an infantry school. By 1814, he fought for Spain in the Napoleonic Wars as a rankless volunteer. However, after returning to the Philippines after the war, he was promoted to Captain. In 1822, the Spanish government demoted every non-Spanish soldier in the Philippines due to fear caused by the Latin American Wars of Independence. Called upon by Mexico, independent by 1821, to rebel also and declare independence of the Philippines, Novales began a mutiny among the King's Regiment in Manila, 1823. However, this failed because of his brother Antonio refused to open Fort Santiago for him. He was executed by the Spanish the day after.

* Camp Artemio Ricarte:
This facility will serve as the regional headquarters of the MoD in Luzon. This is also open for any Philippine MU to claim it as their building.

Artemio Ricarte, born 1866, was known as Vibora or Viper in the Katipunan for his supposed venom. In 1897, the Tejeros Convention made him Captain General, or the armed forces chief of staff today. He refused to sign the Biak-na-Bato treaty at first, but he was compelled to do what Aguinaldo ordered. He also served for the Filipino side during the Filipino-American War, wherein he was captured in 1900. Refusing to pledge allegiance to the United States, he was deported to Guam with Mabini. In 1903, Ricarte secretly returned to the Philippines to start a new revolution, but he was captured again and jailed at Bilibid Prison in 1904, where he served only six of his original eleven years. But his refusal to take oath made America deport him to Hong Kong. To distance himself from the new rebels in the Philippines like the Sakdalistas (1930s), he moved to Japan. When Japan invaded the Philippines, he refused to become dictator of a Japanese-sponsored Philippine government, so a Republic under President Laurel was made. He was forced to establish Makapili, a Japanese propaganda movement, in 1944. He died at the Mountain Province, 1945.

* Camp Aniceto Lacson:
This facility will serve as the regional headquarters of the MoD in Visayas. This is also open for any Philippine MU to claim it as their building.

Aniceto Lacson, born 1857, was also a revolutionary during the Philippine Revolution. On November 5, 1898, he and Juan Araneta gathered the revolutionaries to attack Bacolod with only fake arms. The Spanish, deceived by the ploy, surrendered without a fight. Thus, the Visayans created the Republic of Negros, with Lacson as President. This is commemorated today as the Cinco de Noviembre festival. However, this republic was later absorbed by the Malolos Republic. He died in 1931.

* Camp Ananias Diokno:
This facility will serve as the regional headquarters of the MoD in Palawan. This is also open for any Philippine MU to claim it as their building.

Ananias Diokno, also known as the General of the Seas, was born in 1860. He fled with the revolutionaries in Cavite when his comrades were arrested by Spanish authorities. In 1898, he was sent by Aguinaldo in an expedition to the Visayas with three of the five navy ships of the newly formed Philippine Navy. He also went to an expedition in Bicol to organize the local government there. In 1901, he was captured by American troops. In 1916, he refused the offer of the American government to be Director of Agriculture. He died in 1922.

* Camp Jose Nisperos:
This facility will serve as the regional headquarters of the MoD in Mindanao. This is also open for any Philippine MU to claim it as their building.

Jose Nisperos, born in 1887, was the first ever Filipino and Asian to receive the Medal of Honor (in 1913), the highest award the U.S. government can bestow to any soldier. In 1911, having been badly wounded (his left arm was broken and lacerated and he had received several spear wounds in the body so that he could not stand) continued to fire his rifle with one hand until the enemy was repulsed, thereby aiding materially in preventing the annihilation of his party and the mutilation of their bodies. He died in 1922.

* Camp Casimiro Raposas:
This facility will serve as a military headquarters in honor of the newly established Monarchy of the Philippines. Built in the Spratly Islands (in the Philippines, Kalayaan Group of Islands), this is to be a sub-facility under the regional headquarters of Palawan, due of course to its proximity.

Casimiro Raposas is actually the granduncle of yours truly. He already wanted to die a few years back for some reason I don't know, so I wanted to honor him by entitling a special camp here in ePhilippines after his name. Well, he served during World War II as a lieutenant. He was made captain after the war, and fought rebels in the North known as Hukbong Magpapalaya ng Bayan (Nation's Army of Liberation, formerly HUKBALAHAP). He said to me that he retired a major during the term of Carlos Garcia. Since he had military experience as well, I decided to give this one to him, even if this is just in the ePhilippine world.

Please wait for more announcements concerning the bidding of the military units for the newly created facilities.

Yours truly,
Al Raposas
Minister of Defense
Captain of PMA Regiment 4
Duke of Luzon
