[Daily i] An Open Door For Empire Building?

Latest Military Improvements
"My dear citizens,

In times of war, many countries are using the Resistance Wars to liberate their nations or to delay the opponent's attack. While war rules make countries struggle to conquer new territories, region by region, one at a time, all their efforts might be ruined in a single moment, because defending forces are able to start resistance wars in all the occupied regions at a time. Also, once the initiative was brought back into the war tactics, the conqueror has some time to breath after a victory. This is not fully true, even if the defender cannot counterattack until it gains initiative, a resistance war can start in the very next second after the region is being conquered. Despite the fact that this might seem a good strategy for the defenders, it’s an unfair advantage because in fact, wars are wars, even if there are expansion wars or resistance wars, the same rules must be applied.
As a result, starting Day 1163 of the New World, there can be only one military campaign in a Resistance War. So if there’s already an active campaign in the war between the Resistance Force of Country A against Country B, the Resistance Force cannot start any new campaign until the first one ends. Also, conquered regions will be protected 24 hours against Resistance wars. So, if Country A conquered Region X from Country B, Country B cannot start a Resistance war in region X in less than 24 hours form the moment the region got conquered.

Going on a different subject, another upcoming improvement will be related to the Natural Enemy bonus. As you probably know already, the Natural Enemy bonus was added only to the War influence so far. Soon enough, the +10% Natural Enemy bonus will be applied also to the Rank Points gain and, even more interesting, to the Strength increase while training. For more info, stay tuned."

What does this mean?
l'll start with the new RW rules. Ever since the admins introduced the initiative attack rule a couple of months ago, countries have been using Resistance Wars as a means of regaining lost regions without the initiative. The advantage with using Resistance wars was that you were able to regain all of your lost regions in one set of battles. This meant that conquered regions were rarely conquered for long and wiped countries were able to get back on the map after a day or two.
With these new changes introduced, only one RW campaign can be started at a time, making it easier for the defending country to stop the loss of their newly conquered region. There is also a 24 hour time limit before a newly conquered region can be RW'd by the opposing country, again trying to prevent a swift return of newly conquered regions back to the defender.

Resistance will get crushed!

Moving on to the new Natural Enemy Bonus, In an effort by admins to increase the number of battles and subsequently the number of fights, all citizens living in a country with a Natural Enemy will gain a 10% strength training bonus and fights against a NE will be given 10% rank boost. This almost forces countries who do not currently have a NE to create one or allow their citizens to take a 10% strength penalty for not doing so.

Love Your Neighbour? Not if you don't want to take a strength penalty!

So what are the consequences?
Well if your a citizen of a large country, this is all great news! For the first time you might actually be able to do some empire building as you're able to hold onto the regions you've conquered. You already have a Natural Enemy so all this means is that you get your SS Medals a bit faster!

However for smaller countries, the situation looks a lot more bleak. You will be forced to open a Training War with a friendly neighbour to make sure you do not lose out on the strength bonus. If a larger country decides it's time for them to expand their borders it will be much harder for you to keep on the map and once you've been wiped, it will be difficult to get back. It seems a bit ironic that these changes are made directly after introducing three new countries into the game and I would be surprised if they managed to survive for much longer once their MPPs run out. Of course, Plato won't stand for this, and a new change will come out in around a week which changes things radically again. Unfortunately, that is the way this game works!

Tried to keep this as short as Possible!
