[CPF] The Shadow Government & Questions

Day 2,042, 07:30 by klop123

Good Morning,

It is time to release the CPF shadow government. Our team is full with dedicated players with a variety of skills.

Without further ado:
CP: klop123 & CP candidate for July (identity TBA)
VP: Auk Rest
MoDs: TheSmoke, Randall Flagg 1999
MoFAs: Bryan Alexander, Mizu64, Churchill93
Advisor(s): Exalted Druid

The role of the CPF shadow government is not to act as an official opposition, but rather to ensure the real government acts fairly, with transparency, efficiency and effectiveness. Through articles, public opinion and our tenets, we will seek for betterment of the state of eCanada.

Our Goals:

-Ensure communication between the government and the MUs, ensuring everyone knows where to fight
-Ensure the government provides regular updates to help guide our ecountry
-Ensure eCanada is a selfless and reliable ally
-Work towards a better eCanada.

A few questions for our government:

A few days ago, Oinyo announced that the referendum has passed in regards to the NAP with eSpain. We will leave it up to others to question the margin of the referendum or the method it was conducted under.

There are still a few unanswered questions about the NAP itself.

1) Does the administration have a guarantee that if the NAP is agreed to, we won’t be occupied by multiple TWO countries instead of just one?

As most people know, our dear friend to the south has multiple TWO countries occupying it at the present time, some of whom would border our re-gained territories. It would make no sense whatsoever to sign this NAP, only to be immediately occupied by another TWO member.

Just 7 days ago, Oinyo stated: “The NAP talks with Spain are going to be suspended. The Poll will still count but until the USA is safe from these attacks we will not make any more moves forward and we will not allow the states to fall.”

Considering some of the errors that have been made by the administration in allowing us to waste damage for 7 days in pointless battles, what has changed that they are now seeking to finalize this NAP? Have they guaranteed that we won’t have multiple occupiers next week?

2) There have been some rumours floating around that one of eSpain’s secret terms was a full and public apology from eCanada. Can the administration guarantee that this is not a requirement?

Many CPF members were divided on this NAP – but if it included a public apology from eCanada, it would have likely faced significantly more opposition.

We look forward to a quick and frank response from Oinyo and his team on these questions.

Thank you for your time.
Until next time eCanada, Stay Classy,
klop123 & Churchill93

CPF Tenets:

1. Uphold the equality of all active Military Units
2. Make the accounting of government funding more open and important
3. Ensure Canada is a reliable and selfless ally
4. To respect, recognize and uphold the supremacy of the mechanics of the game
5. Develop a positive political sphere
6. Bring in Canadians to eRepublik
7. To encourage growth and stability to the eCanadian economy

An interesting personal observation, those countries in the real world where unemployment is low seem to be doing worse against real world countries that have high unemployment.

P.S. I thought all communications would be in Spanish by now. [Pensé que todas las comunicaciones estarían en español por el momento.]

Is this a source of eUSA's decline since 2009?

Oinyo
Oinyo Day 2,042, 12:58

I am going to incredibly blunt with these answers as you asked me to.

1) Does the administration have a guarantee that if the NAP is agreed to, we won’t be occupied by multiple TWO countries instead of just one?

No and this is a silly question.. We are at their mercy. We are incredibly weak compared to eSpain and they have ZERO reason to ever let us have land again. The only reason they agreed with this NAP originally was because I talked to them with my cabinet for a few hours and we slowly built up a small friendship and position of mutual respect.

They are more than happy to just sit us us for another year or 2 if we keep up the cocky attitude.

- Just 7 days ago, Oinyo stated: “The NAP talks with Spain are going to be suspended. The Poll will still count but until the USA is safe from these attacks we will not make any more moves forward and we will not allow the states to fall.”-

Your Tenant number 3 states "3. Ensure Canada is a reliable and selfless ally" How is helping the US Pointless? We made a hell of a showing and a LOT of people and other countries saw this and gained more respect for us. A lot more than if we would have sat idle and did nothing while the USA were taken.

Was the communication between their MOD and ours perfect? No.. but it was far from pointless and we gained a lot of respect. There are talks of joint USA and eCan battles in the future due from this... Your statement offends me.. But moving on...

2) There have been some rumours floating around that one of eSpain’s secret terms was a full and public apology from eCanada. Can the administration guarantee that this is not a requirement?

There are no secret terms.. "I" was originally telling them that I would apologize for the way Rylde treated the situation months ago that brought us into this perma wipe.. They said it was not needed anymore.

I'd rather have it blunt than sugar-coated. Too much icing and sugar makes me sick.

Oinyo
Oinyo Day 2,043, 11:38

Lol thank you Mary. I find when i sugar coat things I usually have to repeat it over and over.. So now I just lay it out thick... Much better this way as the message is clear and leaves no room for misunderstanding.

"they have ZERO reason to ever let us have land again."

Not really, occupying more then the maritimes is pointless, they get no extra bonuses from anything else, but have to face constant resistance wars from us defending useless land when they could be focusing on something else.

They have a reason not to waste damage on pointless battle's against us, which is why we should continue to drain away at them with frequent Resistance Wars until they are willing to withdraw to the maritimes. We have no leverage when we sit waiting for them to listen to us.

Oinyo
Oinyo Day 2,042, 13:11

ha ha thx

Chochi
Chochi Day 2,042, 14:04

I'm slowly coming around to this idea but I got to admit that I was pretty disappointed with your fourth part of question 1. It's pretty strong language to describe the status quo.

Pretty much every single battle for the past, oh, year or so has been pointless. We lose nearly all the battles we fight in and those we do win more often than not tend to be routs anyways.

But we always fight on whether it's for ourselves or, in this case as in most, for our allies. Oinyo put our armies at the US' disposal. That they chose not to use us is neither Oinyo's fault nor is it even necessarily pointless. In fact, Oinyo's response makes it very clear that it was not. We showed that Canada is willing to stand by the US wholeheartedly (although there clearly is some mixed opinion among our citizens about the usefulness of that).

What else would you have us do anyways, fight another pointless RW that we'd lose?

I also have some mixed feelings about basing another question on rumours. Even if there is some kernel of truth to it, it's best not to put too much stock into innuendo.

That said, I have a question of my own: I heard that in order to sign the NAP, the Spanish are requiring that Oinyo shave his chest. Can this be confirmed or denied? : P

Keeping the government's feet to the fire is a good thing and this helps to a certain degree but I would hope that you try to keep this as friendly and clean as possible. Keep it above the belt.
