[CP] What is the eBe-Goverment doing? Week 1

Day 2,184, 09:21 Published in Belgium Belgium by eBelgian Presidency

Dear eBelgians,
we haven't reached yet a full week of governing and still a lot has happened. In this CP-Update I want to keep you informed about what happened and what is being planned for the next week.

Do NOT support any RW
For many people it is clear already that we do not want eBe to be liberated already. However, it has come to our attention, that some people were not sure about this. Unfortunately, we have NOT yet reach the necessary conditions to liberate eBE. The only way that you are sure that this conditions are reached for the government, is if an CP article is being made!
During the last RW, lord Lukausus has intentionally given wrong information about the RW to selected amount of citizens and the MoD. Based on this, a wrong article has been published. This was luckily very fast corrected. We want to apologise to all citizens for the possible misunderstanding. I have also taken the decision to fire lord Lukausus, since he showed his true allegiance: with the PTO-attempt.

Government Changes
As explained, lord Lukausus was fired for intentionally hurting eBelgium and the objectives of this government.
Unfortunately, Cika Nikola96 made the decision that he couldn't spend enough time on eRepublik to fulfill his duties and therefore handed in his resignation. With much regret but full understanding, this was accepted by me and the full government wishes Cika Nikola96 a lot of luck , both IRL and on eRep. We would like to thank him, for his time and his efforts.
We can also welcome a new government member, Lorcema. His excellent media-skills will help us to give you even better government articles.

Opening: If you are interested in the Ministry of Defence and you want to help out with organizing a 'civilian strike' or writing MoD-articles? We are now looking for more people in the MoD department, please contact your CP, NLSP, and the MoD, thrasos1996.

Foreign Affairs
Based on the input of our citizens and government members, our MoFA department made a nice article telling you what for now our official stance is. For these that didn't read it but are interested in it, I give you the short version. eBelgium will stay for now neutral, but is open for new adventures. We are determined to stay neutral for some time, and see how the eWorld will progress. However, when an opportunity for eBelgium exists and eBelgium feels ready, we can make the step in the future to allign ourselves.
In the mean time, eBelgium MoFA department keeps contact with many nations and hope to strengthen current relations or lay the ground for new friendships.

eRep becomes 6
For these that receive the newsletter of eRepublik, it is already known that eRepublik will do in the next weeks some special activities to celebrate its 6th birthday. That most likely will involve some kind of promotions. The same newsletter also announced that on 'Black Friday', aka 29th of November, there will be "Massive discounts, deals you cannot miss". You might want to prepare for this and request a loan on the national forum or use one of the other citizen benefits. Soon a MoF article will be published that recapitulates ALL the citizen benefits that eBe has to offer for you!

Next activities
Besides what is mentionned earlier in this article, you might want to know what you should expect in the next week:
* More articles about the PTO
* MoD-department coming fully active, what involves the organization of a 'Civilian Strike'
* The water in the CP/vCP Jacuzzi will be replaced
* The Education-department will publish something for citizens that don't know yet all the game-mechanichs
* Behind the scenes we will be even more busy ...

eBe's One Man Congress
Life sometimes throws a lot of power in one person's hand and currently that has happened in eBelgium as well. The eBelgian Congress exists currently out of 1 person, NLSP, and has a lot of possibilities. The only thing that the CP is not able to do, is initiating votes in-game that have to be started by an in-game CM (for example: donation law). Otherwise, he has the power to do everything else as a normal congress.
Therefore it is important that you give your opinion about everything and the perfect location is the eBelgian National Forum: http://www.erepbelgium.com
If you are in the situation that you don't visit that forum, I give you here a short summery of what is being debated or has been debated on the national forum during the NLSP-Congress. The content of the debates does not necessarly equals the opinion of either the Government or the CP.

* SeCo: How should the SeCo be used and is it or isn't it obligotary for the CP to use the SeCo?
The SeCo, or Security Council, is a part of the meta-game and is used to avoid time-consuming congress-votes when there is a time-sensitive congress decision that has to be taken. This are some legal-technical discussions, mixed with the ethical problem of having only one person making the congress decisions.

* Loans: The requirements for gold-loans that are above 40 gold are being debated
Currently, if the gold loan is rather large, there are some restrictions, one of them being a member of an eBelgian Military Unit. Especially this is under debate. Additionally the procedure to get it, would be slightly changed, due to our lack of a big Congress.

* Foreign Affairs: What should eBe do?
Discussions about mpp's (UK and Chile were named) and the neutrality debate.

* Job Advertisements: SC Justice and Moderator
A call for candidates to become Supreme Court Justice and Forum Moderator.

* Honorary Citizenship: Should Tony be removed?
Recently, Tony Clifford received Honorary Citizenship, after multiple intense discussions. However, on the forum the opinions about this are still divided and a request has been made to remove his Honorary Citizenship.

* Ambassdors: Paid or Unpaid?
A proposal was made to start to pay our ambassadors.

I hope this was informative for everyone. If there would be questions, our government officials are always eager to reply. You can also directly contact me.

Yours truly,
NLSP, eBelgian CP
