Sincere citizens,

Heavy thoughts rest on my shoulders while I set in my comfortable armchair, looking outside the window to the upcoming storm. The door opens and through it comes the finely dressed butler with a red tie and glasses walking in, his right hand carrying a plateau with a single glass and a fine bottle of single malt whiskey. Keeping his face straight, he serves me my glass of whiskey. I smell from the glass, not yet identifying the powder he had putted in it mere moments ago. When I tasted it, I could feel it: a slight sour taste, perfectly masked by the peated taste of the whiskey. I continued nipping from the glass and saw the one eyes butler’s face expression slowly growing into a frown. He curiously checked the little can filled with the poisonous powder, frowned again and left the room. When he disappeared, I took my bottle of tonic and took my daily dose of antidotes, while I heard the butler cursing and screaming in the hallway so loud, that it could make a policeman coming trembling on his knees to ask what house fight is going on. I continue in the meantime the work on my laptop.

It has been busy in Belgium. Many of you will have read about scandals, mischief and bad behavior surrounding some people. But in between all that, some things for good have been done as well. The military budget has finally been agreed and already some exercises by the army have been made in order to know what we’re able to do. We will soon see them active enough on the great plains and in the Romanian mountainside. We are indeed at the moment of writing in the process of gaining a new MPP with Hungary! After some heavy negotiations, for which I really thank mittekemuis for spending hours of time on hard negotiating, we managed to get a quite good MPP out of this. Together with congress we’ve chosen for Hungary for quite some reasons, both of geopolitical and strategical value. To our old MPP partners from the United States of America, once more, thank you for the battles we’ve had with you!

Tomorrow (or today if you read this) it is congress elections. We’ve had quite a surprise with the latest party president elections, so we were expecting in fact a massive multi attack on our country, but surprisingly … they haven’t! This means it will be tomorrow a day for democracy. Remain vigilant though: please check this government message before you go voting. To all the candadates, good luck on it, and I’m looking forward to work with you in the next congress!

With this elections now going smooth and military getting what they need, I’m going to focus myself on some other matters. The mousetrap called Justice has been a hot issue for many in the past weeks. I will attempt to get some things straight out here, so that our SC will function properly and will serve justice to all. Also as some of you might have noticed, our minister of Immigration has buggered off. So right now I’ll be looking into a new MoI, in order to keep Belgium populated with good citizens.

Now, if you’d excuse me, I’d like to enjoy my whiskey a bit more …

Sincerely yours,

Sammy Tanghe
10th president of eBelgium since the independence
