Dear eBelgians,
in the last week, with the campaign between JdlF and The Valeyard running and some tensions related with this, I have refrained from writing a new article. However, I can not longer postpone writing an end-of-term article. Before I tell you more about this month in a whole, I'm going to say a bit more about the last week. I hope I still have your interest for this terms last official CP-article



Black Friday leads to new citizen program
On 'Black Friday' we had a rather unique promotion for all our citizens. Everyone that did an upgrade, received from the eBelgian State an additional discount. We are still transferring the state support to some of our citizens. Since we still have a high treasury, containing more than 1000 gold (some of that gold is used as loan to help our citizens, another amazing eBelgian citizen program), the idea is to spend a bit more of it. In contrast with faulty rumours, we CAN afford it. Therefore, one of the Black Friday addition discounts you could receive from the eBelgian state is now permanent.

We need our DO
Everyone want to have that nice daily candy-bar that you receive when finishing the daily order of your MU (and if you don't have super high strength like your crazy CP, you also like the bazooka). But if you are in an eBelgian MU, you might have noticed that it is hard for your captain or MU commander to give you an Daily Order. This is related with game mechanics, so don't blame them. In order to make it easier, a vote was started for 2 MPP's: Chile and Spain. This will make it easier for them to select DO's.




BM-change
eBelgium has so called 'Bank Managers', they are a regulated way to keep our treasury safe. Due to a different view about the function of the Bank Managers, JdlF was removed as Bank Manager. The government doesn't ask that everyone agrees with everything, however we do require that everyone who takes up an official function, does not abuse the power of that function for personal politics. It will be up to the next government to appoint a new BM if they find it necessary. The other BM's stay currently in place. They are Olv007, Jofroi, MaryamQ and NLSP.



Was the NLSP III-cabinet successful?
This is the third time that I had the honour of leading the eBelgian government and in many ways I find this one of the most successful ones. It was a term that was relatively hectic and bumpy, but most of the objectives could be achieved.

Defence: We had some changes in this department, but we had also 3 civilian strikes, two of them were even together with our friends from eNL. The Daily Orders were reintroduced (even if they were not always daily published) and this helped our citizens to know where they could fight in a way that would help or not hurt eBelgium. Also, the crucial RW's were every time won by Poland, what we wanted.

Security: We gave you more information than any other previous government about our PTO threat and we worked even more behind the scenes. There were possible multies identified and we tried to find connections between suspicious accounts. Unfortunately, but not unexpectedly, the PTO-threat isn't gone yet. However, Congress has voted to take away the rights to participate to citizen programs and more of certain people suspected to be part of the PTO, it is just waiting for the SC to confirm this. When this is done, a next batch of 'suspects' could undergo the same procedure

Foreign Affairs: We had contact with a lot of nations, including with our friends from Poland, and succeeded with hard work to sign our MPP's. We do have updated our stance about alliances, they kept the CP up to date, they made eBe loved in the eWorld (or at least there where it matters 😁). Too bad that they didn't achieve World Supremacy yet. On the other hand, we need to leave some work for the next government...

Finance: Due to a lack of volunteers, BrunoCND received never the slave I was willing to give him. Therefore I helped out a bit, cause MoF is more than just donating some money now and then. The aftermath of the activity based give-away was handled well, the money that needed to be flowing was flowing, all the sheets are up to date and accurate. Furthermore, our citizen programs were once more published in the media AND like promised during the campaign we came up with a plan to spend more money. The Black Friday promotion was a one-time event, just like the rewards for reaching top-5 positions. However, updating your training grounds gives you now during EACH promotion a 20% discount from the state.

Education: Despite the request for regular articles, the education department chose to ignore stupid requests from above and do it in a better way. They made some articles, but they also had the impression that other ways of communication was more efficient. Due to the strong connections between the MoE and ABC, this month we did succeed in reaching our youngest citizens and that was proven by some of them requesting benefits that they were guided to by us.

In general, we did what we promised and we did sometimes even more. Many will find points were improvement could and should be made. However, it is important to realize that eBelgium only can work if there are enough volunteers to take up the responsibility. We have done more than our best and it would be very hard to do more with the manpower we had. I hope we could also satisfy you!



After this month of fun, frustration, hope and disappointment, it is almost time to give the Presidency to my successor.
It was a long month.
It was a heavy month.
It was a tiring month.
I knew the workload before I candidated, but I don't regret doing it. I couldn't have done the job without some of my friends that gave me regularly advice and my full government that worked to their best capabilities. Special thanks go to visitors of my personal IRC channel. But more important, I want to thank all of you who gave me for the third time the chance to give everything for eBelgium.

There are a few things however that I hope will change in the following terms. Nobody forces you to agree with government and opposition is very necessary. People should defend their opinion fiercely and say what they think, even if it is harsh. But, there is no reason to use lies. If you use numbers, use the correct ones. Don't shout that there is an easy 'Freedom Fighter' Medal, if you know that the government will stop that RW at all costs. There is no reason to impersonate government articles and government orders. You are not helping your cause with this and it only hurts the younger, the less informed and the less experienced players. There is also definitely no reason to make references to someone's real life or use threats. I hope that this changes in the near future, cause this would be an essential way to improve our valuable community.
