[CP] The History of Media Part 1

The Article

Canadian Media is some of the most unsatisfying at times. The modern day article either has a lot of pictures with abused cats with funny captions, or just some fat guy wearing a diaper. You will get the occasional hot chick. Though some of you may look at these pictures, you may either laugh, be grossed out, or pleasure yourself to these pictures. But it is a sign eCanada. We are slowly degrading ourselves to lower standards of journalism.

You can argue that erepublik is no place for masterpiece writings, but it is inevitable to have quality journalism. Which would you rather rea😛 a passionate speech by a Prime Minister candidate or an article with a wet pussy cat by a different candidate? I hope you want the latter. Some people, including me, will put hours of work into an article. We consider the vote as recognition of our hard work and dedication to providing you, the public, with quality. To vote up an article full of trash to over what we wrote is a bit of a travesty.

The government’s official press releases are one of eCanada’s greatest tools to reach out to the people. They tell citizens where we should direct our damage to. They tell us what is happening in other countries. They tell us where you can get free items or cheap ones. And yet again tasteless and fruitless articles will push these important articles out of the top 20 at times! So is stupidity going to make us all uninformed?

Evolution?

But modern day eCanada is not in trouble in regards to our evolution in media. Some writers have learned to get out of their cells of text and break free into a world where movement of energy that we can register as noise. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I am talking about the Youtube video/podcast. This magnificent tool was first used by Jacobi as a means to do more effective campaigning. It also gave us a sense of security knowing what our Prime Minister looked and sounded like. But he stopped doing them after while because they were too time consuming perhaps? Or was it the fact that people wanted something new? After Jacobi, we reverted back to our cells of text.

That is, until Acacia Mason. Acacia Mason, a very famous eCanadian at the time, found himself as an ambassador to the DAL. He decided to do a weekly update, but not with a wall of text. Acacia Mason relit the fires of videos and made youtube videos of his voice. He was then called “David Letterman of eCanada” or “The Sexy Synthesizer.” He then stopped those youtube videos after he quit the CPF. But he restarted them with the eCBC Radio One using podcast websites. He then went on to doing No Pants No Secrets, eCanada’s version of “The View” practically.

Music

As for music though, we never get that much as eCanadians. The closest we got were lyrics posted in an article. But Eldorino went and changed all of that. Eldorino is a French Canadian who decided to start a radio program in French. He went onto the eFrench and eCanadian IRC channels and posted his link. From there he would perform music live before our very eyes. He took requests and sometimes had guest callers. But he has retired to two clicking and we do not hear his awesome picks in music. Another person who did this, but in English, was Adasko, eCanada’s favourite Pole. But he quit his radio show to do No Pants No Secrets.

A Golden Age?

So where is eCanada going now in terms of media? Are we going to find that our articles will be fruitless or will they actually be prospering? Will more eCanadians decide to do radio or podcasts? Will the youtube video be rekindled? It is like asking what will be instyle, and as such I believe that our media will be a trend. Good quality articles will be in sometimes. Other times it might be videos. So eCanada are we willing to bring ourselves to a golden age or are we there all ready?
